Prices are often good, there's no sale tax for me and the couple of times I've had a problem with something defective they issued a refund without a issue.

I've heard that as well, but until they give me a reason to think they're "very bad" I'll keep doing business with them.

I haven't used TD and when I heard/read about them was years ago and they had troubles back then. The resellerratings for TD are still mediocre now.

Yep, the Egg strikes again. Ruthless pricing from an owner-group who were flush with money long before starting Newegg, a startling reliance on Chinese in their warehouses for years (papers, anyone?), and direct connections to the major Asian distributors/export companies. I'm told they actually hired one or two white guys and pay state-mandated wages for the past couple years, in response to complaints. In a CRN (Computer Reseller News) article from a few years ago, owners or executives of computer and component supply companies who've been around longer than Newegg, were scratching their heads wondering how in the world Newegg can pull-off the pricing they do, if they were playing by the same rules as them.

Interesting take on Newegg.

Yup. Always thought NewEgg was pulling some funny business. Back in the day, no one could touch NE's prices. I used to say back then, "Watch, they will run everyone else out of business and then raise their prices." Well, ZZF is dead, CircuitCity is gone, TD isn't what it used to be and NE hasn't been competitive on pricing for over 2 years now ;) It used to be that you just put a cart together and check out because I knew no one would be cheaper. Now, I just use it to see what's on the market and then price those items elsewhere. Always, and I mean ALWAYS, I find the same parts cheaper in other stores.
I still buy stuff from them when I see a SlickDeal on a single item once in a blue Moon. But that's about it. Glad to see Amazon picking up computer hardware market share. They aren't any better in my book though. They all are ruthless and out for their own. So I don't care who goes belly up or who lives on, as long as I get my latest Chinese products with coupons, MIRs, and free 3-day shipping *evil laugh*

I can tell you what happened to ZipZoomFly. They cheated people. They definitely cheated me out a rebate, and I saw numerous posts warning people about this.

The scam went like this: To get the rebate, you had to send in a receipt (or maybe it was invoice). ZZF did not send a receipt or an invoice via email. You had to go to their site to get it. The thing was if you went to your account, then went to order summary, you print out a receipt or invoice. Which ever it was, it was the wrong one for the rebate. You had to go through some labyrinthine process to get the one you actually needed.

If you complained, you were told they would consult the manufacturer. Of course, the problem wasn't with the manufacturer; it was with ZZF. But they simply stopped replying after offering an obviously garbage excuse.

I never did business with them again. A good reputation takes a long time to acquire, but only minutes to lose. So for all the praise published in this forum, they deserved to die. Good riddance, I say.
