However, there's no way that you can say that the Yankees don't buy prospects. But it's not like they're the only team to do it, but the Yankees really go all out with it. They're really the only team that could have bought guys like Andy Morales, Henson, Soriano, Mariano Rivera, and weren't Aramboles & Pena (now Reds prospects that were traded for Henson after the Yankees initially traded him) also bought?
Eh, I disagree. These are players that anyone could've had if they found them. You might be correct about Morales and Henson, these players everyone knew about. But Soriano and Rivera could've gone anywhere, it was great Yankee scouting that found them.

I'm definitely right about Henson and Morales. No other team would have spent the $17 million to keep Henson and about the $4-$5 million to buy Morales. But then again, it's their money and they can do whatever they want with it unless the system changes.

I seem to remember that no other team at the time but the Yankees could give Soriano a large signing bonus.

Edit: Well, we've got Adrian Hernandez who was given $4 million over 4 years. Alfonso Soriano was given $3.1 million over 4 years in 1999.

Did you expect the Yankees to go undefeated this year? Moron............

I'll admit the Mets suck this year, but I'm still rooting for them.
