what happened to the love and relationships forum?

It's still there, but it doesn't show on the side bar. You have to click on anandtech forums link near the top and then find it.

The side bar is a STATIC list... certain forums, like Love & Relationship only show for logged in members.

Actually only Lifers can access it now. It's one of the things they changed while switching to vB.

It won't show up on the side. At the top of the menu bar now you should see this:
AnandTech Forums > Social > Off Topic

Click Social... then you should see it.

Because the sidebar is static whether you're logged in or not, they decided to hide it on the side bar entirely so as not to confuse visitors. The forums is still there, you just need to access it from the main forum index.
