What happened to the forum upgrade?

It will be interesting to see how many of these we'll get:

Built in blogger - blogging support within the product

Search & Related topics - An overhaul of search and a neat feature called related topics.

Automatic Moderation - If a users rating gets to a certain level you can automatically ban them

Ratings System - A ratings system for content and users.

Ignored Users - you can now ignore users that you don't want to view content from.
 
My guess:

Blogger - no.
Search & related - yes
Auto moderation -not sure if they'll turn this on
Ratings system - yes
Ignored users - yes.

I wish they would. A rep system where a user falls below a certain point would certainly be helpful. But, it would have to be real low as the ATOT effect could possibly ban someone not that worthy of a ban. Trolls hang themselves in the end though anyway.

I guarantee you that it won't been fixed because some people can't stand to be corrected when it comes to minor issues such as grammer.

OK, so they locked a thread talking about the typo in the notice but didn't actually fix the typo, AND the IT guy who's supposed to overhaul the forums couldn't do so because he couldn't get on the Internet, AND major functions of the site have been broken for who knows how long, AND the video forum moderator's body has never actually been found. (Though to be fair, no one looked.)

The Guide still highly recommends this place--I am NOT leaving. :thumbsdown:

It's refreshing to see someone, such as your self, who's world does not shatter, just because the forums sometimes don't work right. You must actually have a life. 😀

Auto-moderation is great, that way the Mods don't have to work twice as hard. 🙂

No point in having a blog for users -- besides we can get our own blogs and host them elsewhere. May take up too much bandwidth on this site, though.

Ignore users -- perfect for ignoring folks who don't behave well in a forum environment.

Gotta have a ratings system for threads and users -- because we often critique threads that we come across to, and vote on users based on their contributions to the forum.

So they reschedule the forum down time? The AT web team must've ran into some complications. Hopefully they'll do it soon. 🙂
