What happened to TeAm G@H?

I was just taking a look at MM's World ranking page HERE and noticed that the Genome@Home TeAm dropped a spot, so i went over to statsman.org and was shocked to find this:

7 active members today? 8 active in the last week?

WOW - I didn't realize how small our presence there was....:Q

well...not really ;) as TACO was just doing that project for a bit, but there seemed to be more active people when I last looked.

This is basically a call for all you ECCP guys to help out with the Anandtech team with the lowest World ranking.

Thanks for the listen. :)

well, do you mean the GAH2 or the classic GAH? If its GAH2 I might help out a bit (just a tiny little bit tho :D ), my P133 is too slow for FAH so I think I will let it work on GAH.

That's what I was thinking ;):D

This is the Genome@Home I am speaking of :)

I stopped my main fleet from the "classic" g@h and moved to f@H since I believe most of the work was moved there anyways. I did have to restart on stats, but I still have a lowly P200MMX crunching for classic g@h...

still confused... Genoma@home classic (0.99) or Genome@home 2 (same client as Folding@home)?

Anyway...

Eh... why not top 5? Why not pos 1? Anand has to recruit more on anandtech.com :D Not just a small link but a BIIIIG reminder that there is Team Anandtech and maybe some article about DC :)

Sukhoi and I had a processor trade where he was doing G@H for me and I was doing S@H for him. He's away at school and we temporarily suspended the arrangement till he gets situated and such... However if I can get this one friggin' Abit BE6-II machine back online, I think I can get G@H up again... I'm in there as "Blazer". :)

If you're using the Genome@Home team-number, 604374405, it's the same to use the old 0.99-client, or the new folding3/genome2-client. :)
All genome-wu crunched will go to the genome-team...

Oh, remember in the folding3-client to choose "only run genome-wu"... If I'm not mistaken a folding-wu will never be credited to the genome-stats... ;)
... But if you're using the folding-team-number, genome-wu should be credited to the folding-team...

Sure? I thought if using the folding number genome wu's get credited to some special folding-teamer-genome-team or so... or to no team at all. But not to the folding team.

A lot of people left after they stopped supporting it. There's only the old version left.

And you put in a team number >100000 or something like that to have it count towards G@H stats.

Hmm, maybe it's impossible to configure to run genome@home with a folding-team-number... I don't think I've tested this.
I'll testing this out now...

But if you've set "no preferences", the client should download genome-wu if no available folding-wu... and you should get credit for this...

From the Genome@home Classic & Folding@home 3.0 FAQ:

Will my existing or future Genome@home stats count towards Folding@home?

It depends.

Completed workunits from the Genome@home Classic client will have nothing to do with Folding@home stats. Workunits generated by the G@h Classic client (currently version 0.99) will continue to count exclusively towards the Genome@home stats, on this website.

If you run the Folding@home2.x/3.0 clients with no special configurations, you will receive a mix of F@h and G@h workunits. All completed work will count exclusively towards Folding@home stats, no matter what core generated them. For example, workunits generated by the particular F@h3.0 core which runs the G@h protein design algorithm (Core_c9.exe) will count towards the Folding@home stats, and will never enter the G@h Classic system.

However, if you configure the F@h2.x/3.0 clients with your existing Genome@home team number (i.e. a number greater than 100,000), you will receive exclusively G@h workunits and all your completed work will be credited to your existing Genome@home stats. This allows Genome@home users to run the F@h3.0 client while still remaining part of the Genome@home project.

As pertaining to the above, I guess as a team we should decide if we want to keep doing things the way we are, (i.e., putting genome points to genome stats and folding points to folding stats), or if we want to abandon the genome stats and just use the newer FAH client to do FAH/GAH and get the FAH stats up higher.

I guess it depends on which one we can make more of an impact on? As for me all my F@H 3.X stats are going to team 198

I think give up the old G@H stats. I mean how high is the rank? I guess pretty low :-/ (only 7 or 8 working on it... :( ) and our F@H stats aren't perfect either. So better give up one, esp. if the work is the same (it doesn't matter (ok, atm it does, but soon it shouldn't) if you work with the G@H classic client or with the G@H2/F@H3 client).
