what happened to DVD Shrink

The official sites for DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink have passed away, & development is not continued...but the .exe files remain eternal 😀

Why? Other than the likely legal troubles encountered with the creators.

I just went there a few days ago. The website is up with information on the program, but they don't host the program or link it directly.

There's also an interesting topic on a forum over here which describes why a lot of people think DVD Shrink is "dead", which it isn't. For those of you too lazy to read the link: the author -- who is anonymous and shall stay that way -- is satisfied with DVD Shrink as it is now.

I have to admit, as it is now there isn't really anything I'd like to see changed, except maybe for how you can only select one image for all the Titles you replace with stills. I was shrinking Equilibrium a few days ago and there were, I kid you not, 6 separate sections of trailers and other crap. I have 6 or 7 funny replacement screens and I would have liked some variety, but the program wouldn't let me use more than one. I finally settled on the "Warning" screen from the Fight Club Special Edition DVD. 😛

So... yeah, not dead, just completed.

EDIT: Incidentally, there's a couple references to DVDFab Decrypter in those forums, which seems to be what people use now if they don't have DVD Decrypter already. I have no experience with this program, but the latest version was released 3 days ago; at the very least it's not dead, unlike the tragic early demise that was DVD Decrypter.
