What happened to Dual Core Video Cards?

i remember there was a dual core'd 6600GT....wouldnt it be nice if 7800GT/X and the 1800XL/XT had dual cored and then it can be crossfired and SLI'd? wouldnt that own alot?

ASUS has a 7800GTX dual gpu. anyways it was only review purposes . Gigabyte has one too but Both Asus and Gigabyte are waiting for Nvidia to release the offical driver for quad SLI support ... if that happens then these will hit the market.

jeebus. That would be like a $2000 set of GPUs. Might actually be enough to run COD2 2048X1536 max detail max aa/af though. Kinda sad really.

Well GPU's are already multi-cored. What you really mean is Dual GPU. And as pointed out about several dual GPU solutions are in the works.
