What happened to anandtech and gpu review?

Yeah I'll have to agree with comments. The reviews have started to suck lately. Most of the interesting stuff gets a paragraph in the Pipeline while the in-depth reviews are on Apple products and mobile stuff. I have Engadget for that stuff if I want to read about it.

Nice job w/the article, still reading it. As for feedback, I think what's been said here is what I'll echo:

1. Quicker reviews of items the audience is interested in (e.g. different brand video cards and segments)
2. Start doing video reviews like other websites - those are always a good overview of the product. Then people can click on the link in the description to get the whole enchilada.
3. Start taking polls in the most popular subsections of what they'd like to see next - that way you guys are actively receiving feedback.
4. When doing technical articles that are long (>5 pages), take some time to link to external sources or define certain terms so the layman can understand it.
5. Would like to see recent CPU scaling articles at higher resolutions with multiGPU.

The Nexus 9 review would be great. Being on time is my biggest request. You guys are the most in-depth while simultaneously being able to speak layman's terms so whenever your site doesn't have a review for a high profile product (like the gtx 960, Nexus 9, etc.) it leaves a big hole that has to be patched by visiting many other questionable sites instead of just visiting here.

It is still a little disappointing to see some reviews not posting as soon as they used to, but I can say I appreciate the great article just posted on the 970 memory issue more than another 960 article.

Great write-up on the 970 and the level of detail is much appreciated!

Well, like I said earlier, maybe an annual or semi-annual benchmark review of cpu and gpu gaming performance. And quicker results when new cpu and gpu hardware comes out. If I recall, Devil's Canyon cpu review was quite late in coming out, as well as the 960 review.

GREAT writeup on the 970 memory issue. That's the level of detail that we crave. That's what I come here for. Best analysis of it so far. Ryan, I have been reading your reviews since you started here and we know you have it in you. Just a little concerned that your GPU focus would be lessened with all your new responsibilities.

GPU's and CPU's are still the most important parts to your core audience. Its the meat and potatoes if ya know what I mean.

That's a very good article, and worth a delay to the 960 coverage, but if you can use that funding to get the people to do things in parallel that'd be great. Also, considering the difference aftermarket coolers seem to make vs. reference in some cases, reviewing the reference and a good aftermarket cooler would be quite welcome.

Something that would be nice to have is a noise figures database for specific card models. The Bench includes noise, but just per GPU model, not for specific cards, and even the tested card is unnamed.

Actually, I suppose the unnamed cards are either a reference card from the GPU maker, or a card based on the same design. But it would be better to call them "Reference" explicitly.

Not sure it's worth doing any reviews now. 960 wasn't exactly an exciting product release. Better to wait and do 960 Ti instead, when it comes out. But who am I, to tell you guys what to do, lmao.

IMO, this card just doesn't deserve any spotlight.
