4G and 5G Prelude
Acura NSX
MK4 Supra
F355
McLaren F1
Redesign Camaro (94+?)
Dodge Viper
C5 Vette
Impreza WRX (before the bug-eyed NA debut)
Audi TT (was the first Audi that I thought actually looked decent)
Boxster
Final Gen RX7
Subaru SVX (very unique)

I'm sure there are tons more, but anyways :)

ooh, on that note.

2nd gen Toyota MR2.
2nd gen Ford Probe GT.
99+ Ford Mustang.
All new Camaro.
C5 Corvette.
300ZX.
Mazda RX-7.
Porsche. Any.
3rd Gen Taurus. It reminded me of late 80's concept cars.
Fourth Gen N. American Market Toyota Camry. After that, they went to poo.
1990 N. American Market Honda Accord. Probably the best FWD sedan ever built.
2nd gen Taurus SHO.
2nd gen Acura Integra.
2nd gen Acura Legend Sedan. Coupes looked goofy.
Cadillac Seville. Again, the coupe (El Dorodo) looked goofy.
Ford Thunderbird SC.
Linclon MKVIII. But I wanted it de-chromed.
Mercedes SL500.
Lamborghini Diablo.
BMW 850 somethingrather. I always wanted this car. I still do.

How can you guys forget Mitsu 3000GT?
Skyline R-33/34
300ZX

OP is still smoking some of the stuffs left from the 70's.

3000GT was too heavy.

I'd say not so much pussified as vibrant. One reason I love cars is because they reflect the atmosphere and mood (more or less) a country is having.

So for example, all those flashy cars of the 50's could reflect the optimism after WW2, and the new industrial capacity the U.S. had.

In the '60's, that trim sort of died down for a sportier look evidenced by cars such as the Corvette and Mustang, and redone Ford Thunderbird.

I like your definition of it. I agree pussified is the wrong term.

Personally I love the looks of cars from the 90s, cars made nowadays put far too much emphasis on high belt lines and huge c-cpillars. I personally hate the cars from the 80s.

The same thing that happened to 80's cars when we were in the 90's and 70's cars when we were in the 80's, etc... It takes time for the old to become new again. Once we stop seeing 90's cars everywhere, some of them will become popular again for their looks and what not.

You know, now to think of it nothing really good came out of the 80's.

Good list! Incidentally, I currently own two of the above mentioned cars :) Guess that gives away my opinion on cars from the '90s. It was one of the better decades, IMO. The heyday of the GT sport coupe - 3000GT, Stealth, 300ZX, BMW 8 series, MKIV Supra, Lincoln Mark VIII, etc....every single one of which was killed off by 2000. This type of car became a nearly dead market segment in the early to mid '00s, as the market shifted towards horrible SUVs instead :( Fortunately, that trend seems to be reversing at least.

It's funny how the '90s were singled out - 1974 - 1985 or thereabouts was pure shit (with a few exceptions, of course).

I think the 90's was really the decade of the truck and SUV. Cars got better. SUVs were born and trucks got A LOT better, starting in 1993 when Jeep introduced the Grand Cherokee and 1994 when Dodge introduced a redesigned Ram. Those 2 vehicles raised the bar on what SUVs and trucks could be.

After thinking about it, decent-looking cars from the 80's are tough to find. Cars that were good-looking for their time IMHO, without going to exotics :

3G Prelude ('88-'91)
Acura Legend Coupe
1st Gen 300Z ('84-'89, not as pretty as the '90+, but not bad)
Mk3 Supra
Porsche 928 (technically this came out in the late '70s, but WE)
Porsche 944 (technically based on 924 design from late '70s, but WE)
'88 Fiero
MR2

^^ Any of the above in excellent condition / good paint, look pretty decent to this day.

Primarily because of CAFE and tree huggers all the V8s were pretty much neutered.

The 5.0L Boss produced 280bhp in the Mustang for example.

This is true, and was true from the mid-70's IIRC. There were ~150-180hp V8s aplenty. Getting big power wasn't too hard though :

(1)- Open the air intake
(2)- Increase fuel flow
(3)- Open the exhaust

Pretty much 1-2-3.

im a huge impala fan, im still wishing i could find a good deal on a 90s impala. and i love the 62-67 years for it. the 70s impalas is where i would say they decided to make their style vanilla.

but the nova, sentra and every other car in that class pretty much looked like each other in the 90s. ill agree about that.

Yeah, pretty much. 1976 = worst year for all cars ever.

The '80s was when we finally got around to getting rid of carburetors and started figuring out how to make power out of computer controlled, fuel injected engines.

What???

Link me, because I disagree (I assume you're talking Mustangs) heavily.

Edit: Oh, I think I am the ass.

You're referring to Camaros, correct?

Yes, I like those as well:

That what you're referring to? Bloody beautiful indeed!

You are correct sir. Although im a little partial to the LT! body style of the 4thgen then the LS1. Slight difference, but they are there.
