What happend when you sell new stuff on AA or egay and it doesn't work?

It depends on your auction:

if you say SOLD AS IS and you didn't add some stupid stuff like "it WILL work" when you aren't sure, then you're not liable for it.

didn't say anything?: well have fun with altercation, if it was something very expensive, they might take a legal action.

said "no DOA": you're responsible for it.
