Actually he started his campaign on two issues, healthcare and early childcare. Then of course he got the Iraq issue and capitalized on that. Unfortunately when he tried to move on with issues of bringing more people back into the voting process, fiscal conservatism, etc, he was pigeonholed as the angry anti-war candidate and he was never able to shake it.
