What happend to Dean's lead?

I don't know much about politics but from what I recall Dean was supposed to be the front runner and supposed to be ahead of the other candidates. Did something go wrong?

I was all for the guy untill I watched him on ABC This Week on his campaign bus. He spoke. That was enough.

Actually he started his campaign on two issues, healthcare and early childcare. Then of course he got the Iraq issue and capitalized on that. Unfortunately when he tried to move on with issues of bringing more people back into the voting process, fiscal conservatism, etc, he was pigeonholed as the angry anti-war candidate and he was never able to shake it.

I wonder if things are being confused here. What I mean is, were earlier Polls mostly National and now most are focused on just Iowa?

His personality did him in. I think people finally saw what thin skin he had and realized Bush would make him look like a poor man's Walter Mondale in the general election.

he went up against the clinton's (threatened to fire terry mccauliffe as head of the DNC)
he went up against Bush

he got support by Mosley-Braun and Gore (they are also total dead meat now politically..the Clinton's will not forget they were for Dean, the Anti-Clinton)

No one is a front runner. Kerry wins Iowa, Dean will likely win N.H. and Edwards will win S.C. Super Tuesday will be up for grabs.

Kerry made a mistake by having Kennedy introduce him tonight. Here in the south many Democrats can not stand Kennedy. My whole family is lifelong democrats and they hate Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy.

She knows Bush is going to win this year and that there is no real successor to him yet. Jeb Bush has no chance.

She has her eyes on 2008.

Which gives the South to John Edwards. This is a race between Kerry, Dean, and Edwards. Clark needs to win New Hampshire to stay in it.

I think that the Governor's wifes' endorsement did a lot of good for Kerry. Many people who were undecided might have voted for him thinking that he would be best candidate since the first lady endorsed him.
