What guage speaker wire should I buy for my Z-560's?

Just make sure you at least use quality copper cable (OFC, pure copper) but don't buy overpriced Monster cable! RadioShack megacable is much cheaper and its high quality.

Well, if you buy really cheap, thin patch cables (like 36 gauge?🙂), I think you can tell a difference but once you go up in quality (gauge, copper content), you can tell the difference only up to a certain extent ( in price and quality). Going over that won't reap any more benefits.

18 or 16AWG depending on the length. You'd need lower gauge/fatter cable on longer cable run. I started a big discussions on cable types. The conclusion almost everyone agreed to was as long as you get sufficiently low gauged wire, audiophile, OFC, Mega-Duper-Boomer, Hippopotamus-Omega or electrical cable from Lowe's doesn't make any audible difference. Get the wire from electrical section in your local home improvement center.

i am using 12 gauge... any 12 gauge will do. oxygen free will be good since it clears most of the impurities from the copper itself. first I bought 30ft, but that wound up not being enough for my needs, so I got a 50' roll.... I like slack on my cabling and my sub is on the floor with the cables routed in the back.
