I have the DVD in the player and it would pass the intro, menu, the scenes with clips and to the rating and past the MACROVISION screen and it would not play from there!!!! :| I just don't get it. Protection my ass!!!! I can't use the stuff that it is meant to be used for!

Finding a hack or a thing to fix it is like finding a dimond in a vast beach. Anyone have anything to assist?

Must be an ATI/Intel issue.

;) No I'm just kidding... Are you getting an error message?

I can try others.

I think it maybe the region codes. I just want to find a good hack to break this macrovision thing on both my ATI AIW Radeon (for capturing purposes such as VHS which won't let me) and DVD playback. I will let you know.

Check under Epsilon in my rigs for specs.

Never had that problem myself, are you sure its macrovision? Does macrovision stop it from playing, my understanding is that it is more that the picture goes light and dark and back, but continues to play.

I think you have something else going on, and unless your DVD is region locked, I'm guessing thats not it either, unless you've been playing alot of DVD's or VCD from other parts of the world?

Is your system overclocked? I've found that my AIW Radeon sometimes refuses to properly play DVDs when the bus speed is pretty far above normal. It does give an error though, something about copy protection failed. <- (in a dialog box)
Does the dvd work in a stand alone DVD player?

I never had any problems with my ATI AIW Radeon and playing DVD's with a Pioneer 113 DVD rom drive. Are you using the DVD software that came with the AIW Radeon? Try PowerDVD, or some other DVD software to see if it works with that.
