What gaming monitor would you recommend for 144Hz at 1080

Hey all,

my current setup is:

CPU Intel Core i5-6500
MB MSI B150M NIGHT ELF
Case SilentiumPC Gladius M45W
PSU CORSAIR RMx Series RM550x
HDD SSD Samsung 850 EVO, 2.5"
COOLER SilentiumPC Spartan 3 LT HE1012
RAM CRUCIAL 2x8GB DDR4 2133MHz
VGA nV GIGABYTE GV-N960WF2OC-4GD

I will be switching to NV 1070 in the future so that I can handle 144Hz at 1080p at (mostly) full details. Which Displays would you recommend for 144Hz Gaming.

Keep in mind a decent display can last you for 10 years or longer. So it pays to so spend a little more a monitor. So if you see a 1440p@144Hz display at a reasonable price, get it, it will be well worth it.

This is the point can you recommend me good Displays? I mean TN is a super old technology. But there are currently not so many Gaming IPS or VA pannels? So what to do?

I don't know about VA panels, but 144Hz IPS ones are not cheap. You going to have to read some reviews.

Guys I'm not sure if its worth of buyng 1440p if he wants to upgrade his GPU to 1070 he wont play many games in 1440p then because of low fps. Also 144Hz from my experience is too much for this card. But I'm just saying. I am currently testing BenQ XL2411Z with 1080p and 144 HZ and I'll let u know when I finish if its worth of buying.

Perfect, BenQ XL2411Z or Asus MG248Q are my favorites. But from videos the BenQ XL2411Z has really washed out colors.

Go for Benq Zowie XL2411 24inch 144Hz e-Sports it cost a bit more like 5-7 dollars but this is refreshed version of 11Z.

Don't listen to those suggesting 1440p if you are actually interested in playing games in high fps because even with a GTX 1070 you won't be doing that at 1440p.

A monitor may technically last 10 years but today's monitors will be garbage in 10 years quality wise so one would want to upgrade anyways. Unlike other technologies the display industry is going to get some pretty significant changes in the next 5 years.

With that said unfortunately quality 1080p 144hz monitors aren't that many. The best one currently is the Acer Z271 but it's quite pricey due to G-Sync. There is also the Lenovo Y27F but there is no professional review on it so can't be sure of its quality. Price is good though.

Apart from these 2 the only other options are TN based. If money is a concern and you want high FPS gaming then a 24" 144hz 1080p 8-bit TN is your best option at $250. I would not recommend a 27" TN because the viewing angles become an issue even head on.

If you are intrigued by G-Sync then the Acer Z271 is well worth it. According to TFT Central it is the fastest VA monitor ever.

If you live in the US or if you have the option of returning a product you don't like then I would highly suggest giving the Lenovo Y27F a try.

To be fair I never used a high refresh rate monitor or one with Adaptive Sync. However I've been using a 30" 2560x1600p@60Hz one for three years now, and I love that resolution.

Well my computer table is rather small (its the cheapest from IKEA - plywood) so I sit in front of the screen quite near. Thus 24 inches would be enough I think. Unfortunatelly I am not from USA but from the Czech Republic. This is he website I am buying from https://www.alza.cz/EN/ so if you have time and willingnes you cna search there and suggest some screens. From my own investigation I came to 2 screens:

https://www.alza.cz/24-asus-gaming-mg248q-d4225373.htm Colors are better but less features for games

Hah, I am from Poland my neighbour and I often use http://mindfactory.de to do some bigger shopping. ;) I will take a look and let u know.

edit: Tbh, I would go for Benq Zowie XL2411 24inch 144Hz e-Sports in that price range it's the only resonable choice.

What is the difference between Zowie and the regular one without "Zowie"? And how about the colors? Are they washed out as well? I am refering to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8D5V1dDCSag

I think that XL2411Z had some problems with software and not all of them were updated. This model should be free of any problems we met in the past.

I am basically deciding among 24" ASUS MG248Q Gaming vs. Benq Zowie XL2411.

The best would be to see them live but we dont have such a store which showcases either of them :( So I have to give on experience from users. I am not sure if I even notice the "washed up colours" of XL2411 as I have been using 5+ years old TN 21,5 Philips panel. So I guess I am used to washed up colours and Black not being represented properly as black but more lightish. But since I am purchasing a new one I want the best, obviously. The MG248Q has really nice colors but I am afraid since I am already used to the "washed up" that I wont like it and the display will seem to "dark" in colors for me. I feel like its impossible to decide.

If your current monitor has a matte coating and you are not bothered by it then it's a non issue.

You are thinking too much about the colors. Just because you are used to a washed up display doesn't mean you won't like one with richer colors. I say go for the ASUS.
