What games would you LOVE to see redone with today's 3d technology?

DOOM, Altered Beast and Diakatana is on the top of my list...

Doom's already getting redone, and I doubt if anyone else cares about Altered Beast, and Diakatana, well, that is, if they use the Doom3 engine and someone other than Romero's working on it... It was such a cool idea...
 
I was going to say Doom even before I got into the thread... I loved that game... spent SO much time playing it..

DOOMIII will not be like DoomI or DoomII.
 
Any of the old Sierra Adventure games... King's Quest, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, etc...

It would be boring after a few hours, but ASTEROIDS done in full-color 3D would be cool. There was another one called "Gunman 1931" or something like that. It was arcade-only. It had a joystick like a flight-sim joystick and two buttons; fire and duck.

You were a gangster back in the 1930's in the middle of a mob war. you went from level to level shooting, ducking and fighting successively tougher bosses. It was all first person...
 
altered beast?? the side scroller?
and diakatana? wasnt it bad because the gameplay sucked so whats the point of remaking it with better graphics?

What I want to see is Stargate SG1 the game using the Doom3 engine 🙂
 
Well since the DOOM source code was released a while back, various volunteers on the 'Net rewrote DOOM for OpenGL.

Any of you guys tried those out?

Yup. But the idea behind Diakatana was cool... All the different eras and settings... I waited for that game for so long. and John Romero made it into a POS... Maybe if ID remade it...

I tried it out about two years ago, although not being able to look up or down made the game nearly impossible to play! (Aagh -- how do I shoot that cacodemon above me!?) 🙂 The graphics were sure neat, though, with all the mip-mapping and such!

 
I know it's already in 3D, and it's not even that old of a game - but I'd LOVE to see a completely remodeled/retextured version of FFVII - it'd be so much more dramatic and, umm, cool 😀

Also, the original Need For Speed - with the open roads...omg that game was so cool 😀

Another I'd like to see with updated graphics? Destruction Derby...
