What games should I get out of these lists?

Alright, here are the lists I'm considering:

PS3 games:
Resistance 2
KillZone 2
Little Big Planet
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Should I get this if I'm an easily frustrated gamer?)
Uncharted

Xbox 360 games:
BF: Bad Company
Bioshock
Call of Duty 3
Crackdown
Dead Rising
Dead Space
Fable 2
Fallout 3 (Does this game freeze a lot on the 360?)
FEAR 2
GRAW 2
GRAW
Gears of War 1
Gears of War 2
Halo 2
Halo Wars
Mass Effect
Ninja Gaiden 2
Oblivion GOTY(Does this game freeze a lot on the 360?)
R6V2
Saints Row 2

XBLA games:
Bionic Commando: Rearmed
Castle Crashers
Contra
Megaman 9
Metal Slug 3
Super Contra

Well, as you can see from that list I love shooter games, and for the PS3 I currently have COD4, Orange Box, and Resistance 1, and for the Xbox 360 I have Resident Evil 5, COD4, COD 5, and Halo 3.

So of that list, what should I get?

Bioshock is a great game. Mass Effect is awesome too but that's more RPGish if you're into that as is Oblivion but that's good as well. I didn't really enjoy Fallout 3 as walking forever in nothingness got boring, story sucked even with all the sidquests, voice acting really stunk as well. I really enjoyed Dead Rising. Megaman 9 is pretty much a must have on XBLA and Metal Slug games are always fun, especially if you have someone to play with but they get boring if you only play them by yourself. Contra is also just a fun shoot-um-up. Need to get Uncharted as well.

Not into most of those games.... but definitely buy Castle Crashers! It's worth the low price and fun for months.

Commenting only on the ones I've played:

BF: Bad Company: Not an awful game, but the whole "fully destructible environments" deal gets old half way through. Rent it on a long weekend, play the hell out of it, and be done with it... or borrow from a friend if that's an option. I got the Gold Edition from a Circuit City that was going out of business back in December for about $15. Not a bad purchase, but I don't see myself playing through it ever again.

Fallout 3 (Does this game freeze a lot on the 360?): Define "a lot?" I had it freeze about a dozen or so times in the 80 hours I played through it. The patches supposedly fixed a lot of that, but I haven't played since the patch(es). It was pretty much just a minor inconvenience though as the game auto saves quite frequently.

Gears of War 1: A must-have if you like shooters and action games. The third person/cover based combat might seem stupid to someone who is a huge FPS fan, but give the game a shot.

Gears of War 2: Despite some fair criticisms, a definite improvement on GoW1. I suggest you play Gears 1 first, and if you like it move on to Gears 2.

Halo 2: I can't comment on the multi-player as I never played but a few hours of it, but I liked the campaign mode of Halo 2 mounds better than Halo 3. Halo 3's campaign seemed a bit to trite for me. Maybe it's because I played through all 3 of them though.

Killzone 2 is awesome

Both Gears of War games are fun.

Dead Rising is a fun game as well. Not graphically as good as current 360 games as it came out right around the system release date.

Halo is ok, but sorta tired at this point. I didn't think there was much new to be had in Halo 3.

The Call of Duty games are always good as well.

Don't have a PS3 so I can't comment on those, but for the 360:

BF: Bad Company - Haven't palyed it, seems decent
Bioshock -Definitely
Call of Duty 3 -No, this or MoH: Airborne ties for the worst WWII shooter I've played
Crackdown -Haven't palyed it
Dead Rising -If you're into that sort of thing...I didn't like it
Dead Space -Haven't palyed it, not my type of game
Fable 2 - Haven't palyed it, looks decent
Fallout 3 -Definitely
FEAR 2 -Haven't palyed it, not my type of game
GRAW 2 -It was so-so, don't get GRAW1, GRAW2, and R6V2.
GRAW -See above
Gears of War 1 -Definitely
Gears of War 2 -If they've fixed all the bugs then maybe, I'm still bitter though
Halo 2 -Meh...if you're into Halo games
Halo Wars -Haven't palyed it
Mass Effect -Not the greatest game ever but a ton of fun
Ninja Gaiden 2 -a HUGE no..., pick up Ninja Gaiden Black, it's BC. NG2 was awful
Oblivion GOTY -Definitely
R6V2 -It was so-so.
Saints Row 2 -the first was fun but buggy, never played the 2nd but I hear it's better

Really, the only ones out there that are "must plays" for me are Bioshock, Fallout 3, Gears 1, and Oblivion.

You've got CoD4 for both the 360 and PS3??? How'd that happen?

Instead of CoD 3 try CoD 2, I hear it's much better. Fallout 3 froze only once or twice for me in the time it took me to beat it (~60 hours maybe?). Oblivion never froze on me.

Also, you mention not getting Ninja Gaiden Sigma if you're an "easily frusterated gamer." NGS is a remake of Ninja Gaiden Black, which is a phenominal game. I've not played the PS3 version but if it's the same as NGB then it's a winner. Ninja Gaiden 2 will make you question it's existance, I wanted to chuck the disk out the window about 50 times while playing it. The combat has evolved into button mashing, the enemies/bosses have changed from being challenging to just plain cheap/frusterating, and the level design is awful.

bad company has some really awesome MP action. if you have friends that have it or will get it, it would be a blast. bad company 2 is coming this winter, so i would get it now on the cheap to see if BC2 would interest you.

Most games nowadays aren't worth the $60 price of admission and are hardly worth the $9 to rent them from Blockbuster.

However, from your list, the games worth purchasing are:

Gears of War 1
Gears of War 2
Mass Effect
Contra
Megaman 9
Super Contra

They have a Metal Slug Anthology for the PS2 I think...

Got a PS3 myself.

Loved Fallout 3 on it. I'm about 60 hours into it, and it's frozen once.

Resistance 2: Lots of fun.

Different games, but IMO Fallout3 > Resistance 2.

A lot for me is freezing more than just once in a blue moon.

Yeah, its mainly cheapness that gets me frustrated in games, like in COD4 veteran mode where unlike hardened where its actually a legitimate challenge, it turns really cheap when the enemy throws 9000 grenades at you, and seem to have ESP and know everything you're doing, and it seems like by sheer luck you make it to the next level.

I also don't like Mario Kart DS where the other guys seem to have karts that go 5x faster than yours do, even when you're powersliding and snaking, and God forbid that you stay in first place as they will spam red shells and the God-awful blue shell at you.

Then yeah, steer clear of NG2, maybe pick up Sigma, not sure how similar it is to NGB.

Crackdown
Dead Rising
GRAW
GRAW 2
Gears of War 1
Gears of War 2
R6V2

Is there a reason R6V isn't on your list?

Because last year I rented R6V for the PS3 and beat it.

Get Dead Space, Fable 2, both GoW games and that's it from that list for me.

As for XBA - get Braid. It's such an amazing game. And Castle Crashers is also nice :) But Braid is a must.

R6V2 is very similar to R6V. GRAW is somewhat similar (a cover system, additional assets, emphasis on tactics), but has a different feel.

Damn, I wish Metal Slug's on PSN. I love the series. I play it all the time on my DS.

FYI:
- Mass Effect has driving and inventory improvements on a PC
- Fallout 3 has user mods while still offering DLC content on a PC

both will also look better and run at higher resolutions on a midrange or better PC.

Also, your PS3 list is missing Ratchet and Clank.

Uncharted is pretty much the must have game for any PS3 owner. I could live without Resistance but Kill Zone is pretty decent, at least that's the impression I got from the demo. LBP is a pretty good game. I'd also look at Ratchet & Clank, Dirt (plays best on PS3), and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Don't forget the excellent PSN titles; such as Wipeout HD, the PixelJunk games, and Flower.

Fallout 3 (Does this game freeze a lot on the 360?)
I can't speak for the 360 version but the PS3 one does occasionally, but vary rarely. I noticed it hangs occasionally though for maybe a couple of seconds. It's a problem yes, it sucks to have any game freeze like that at all. However, the game is hardly unplayable. I don't know if I'd recommend it though. The subject matter is pretty heavy. I always feel tense and depressed after playing it. :p

I'd pick up Bioshock, Halo 3, and Gears of War. Those are pretty much the must have titles for the 360. As for XBL titles, I'd definitely get Contra. Megaman 9 is kind of neat being a "simulated" 8-bit game, plus it's original not a port. It's really hard though so be prepared for a challenge.

PS3 games:

Resistance 2 : No resistance one was post rated over rated for some reason and resistance 2 is just as bad unsurprisingly.

KillZone 2: Demo was alright but if your not an fps nut this game is not a great example of the genre.

Little Big Planet: I'd say no unless you really like creating random crap.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Should I get this if I'm an easily frustrated gamer?): Sigma is easier than all the iterations before it but its still somewhat difficult. I'd say no due to your comment. I beat the original so I know at some points its just nuts.

Uncharted- yes it was a good game and is probably cheap used.

Xbox 360 games:

BF: Bad Company: rent at most... I thought it was entertaining for 2/5 days I rented it.

Bioshock: yes and its cheap used since there are so many copies

Call of Duty 3: no omg its awful

Crackdown: yes its really fun and probably cheap too.

Dead Rising: not for you since it can get quite frustrating

Dead Space: not sure; it wasn't my cup of tea but a lot of people liked it.

Fable 2: yes it was great I beat it like 3 times

Fallout 3 (Does this game freeze a lot on the 360?): Rent it.

FEAR 2- don't know
GRAW 2- "
GRAW- "

Gears of War 1: yes
Gears of War 2: yes but dont get 1 and 2 at the same time you'll get bored

Halo 2 - why not 3? anyways sure

Halo Wars: dont know

Mass Effect: rent if you have time; theres a lot of content but a lot of it is pointless

Ninja Gaiden 2: no

Oblivion GOTY(Does this game freeze a lot on the 360?): yes great value

R6V2: I liked the first one better

Saints Row 2 : rather play crackdown or gta4
