tony hawk pro skater II didn't work for me. I dont play many games, but i love that game, and it dont work under win2k

I have seen messages online, mostly over at ntcompatible, in which users claim to be running Myst III: Exile under W2K. It wouldn't run on either of the W2K systems at our house. We'd click on the shortcut to start the game, the initial splash screen would appear, then it would disappear, then we'd see a message box stating that there was an error in M3.EXE. I placed Win98SE partitions on both systems so wifey and I could both play the game. Since then a "1.02" patch has been placed at the UBISoft site. This patch is said to fix a problem that system running S3 chips had with M3.EXE. Neither of the machines we have runs S3, so I haven't bothered to try reinstalling the game under W2K. If you haven't tried it yet, the patch might be worth a shot. There's a link to it on this page.

I was mainly playing Unreal Tournament and Baldur's Gate II on my W2KPro machine... UT worked great, BGII alright, but not terribly stable (mind you may for all I know be the same in W98).
However, there have been lots of other games that were for me, way more stable in W98 than in W2K... Starcraft, Starfleet Command 2, Soldier of Fortune, ST Voyager Elite Forces, Janes WWII Fighters.
I just recently experienced the straw that broke the camel's back... re-installed Starcraft (to play lan games with an old laptop we just bought) and although it ran in W2K, it crashed every couple of levels or so... never had that problem in W98. Sooo... although W2K was stable and wonderful, I never really had any problems with W98 stability, dual-booting's a PITA, and so is futzing about with the OS to get games to run... so, I byebye'd W2K yesterday and am now back to W98... for now.

NFS 3 and 4 work great on Windows 2000. Install Windows 2000's latest compatibility patch and all will be well thraxes.
Madden 2001 works fine but you ain't going to play it over a network, as that function isn't available. :| That pissed me off because that is what I mainly wanted to do with it.

ive been having the hardest time running B&W on win2k. it will act like its about to load, then the screen turns white, and thats it! i have to close it via the taskmanager. it worked great in WINXP beta 2 with my very old voodoo banshee card, but now it wont work in win2k with my very new Kyro II!

Star Wars:Rogue Squadron works barely for me, but I can't use any gamepads or joysticks. It just won't recognize them in the game.
Cigar, you play TA online? I can't seem to get that game working either. I get blue screen of death. But I know a ton of ppl who play it on Win2k Pro and Server fine. Also, I can't get Tribes 2 to work When it updates the updater it says it casue a fatal error or someting like that, and then shuts down.

I think theres some problems with the updater right now as well, so you can't get the other patches thru the updater, you have to get them from a website.
re: NBA 2001.. doesn't work but it sucks anyway... nba 2000 w/ roster update is much better. NHL and FIFA 2001 worked fine for me.
Midtown madness 2 has graphical issues w/ my gf2 gts in win2k.
Starcraft, counter-strike,quake3, ut, and worms 2 work perfectly.
