Really does depend on what kind of gaming experience you're looking for. Are you looking for a story driven game? If so, get GW. Or are you looking for an MMOG where you can solo and group, and then raid at the end? If so, then get WoW.

You'll probably put more hours into WoW. Even the most hardcore GW players i know, no longer play.

If you've never played an MMOG before... get WoW then. You're in for quite an experience.

Guild Wars is the game for you since you come from FPS. It is heavily PvP focused and arena events remind me of an online FPS. Guild Wars is also much less complicated, much more scaled back than WoW (not that WoW is that complicated compared to other true MMORPGs anyways, hard to compare to GW to WoW since GW is not an MMO). You can start a character at max level in guild wars and do nothing but PvP all day in an arena and not have to worry about PvE or questing. I don't like that kind of gameplay in non FPS but from the information about the previous games you have played, it should suit you better.

No, not for the first month you don't... but you may need a CC to activate the game/account (not too sure, i haven't played WoW, but some MMOGs require a CC even though the first month is free)

They require a CC number or a game card to play the game for the first month. Even if you cancel your account before your free month ends, they will still bill the game card and it will be useless. Credit Card is the way to go.

meh, I haven't had to pay to play online since I played the original Warcraft II!! And that was on Kali with a one-time $20 charge.

Evil companies....they put all their effort into making as addicting a game as possible and then once you're hooked, they reel it in from your bent over position!

Tell me about it.

It costs them millions of dollers to make large mmorpgs and to keep them running and they want to make that money back and make a profit.

Maybe the commies had it right..... :disgust:
