In my case adding a wifi card would let me roam around the house playing music from my FLAC jukebox, sweet!

Less gadget-y, but a little over $500 would get you a decent receiver from etronics plus a pair of Polk RT28 speakers on sale at Crutchfield. Music sounds much better to me with decent bookshelf speakers than with tiny sats and a sub.

I'd buy the umm Roomba! that robotic vaccume I saw on the informercial. Then I'd buy a "Q" I saw on an informercial too. It was like a small 8 pound portable propain grill, it looked really kick ass. And with the remaining 150 or so bucks, I'd buy stakes for my new grill And then I'd grill and chill, while the Roomba cleaned my house.
