#6 THHN is about $1.88/ft at Home Depot. Might be cheaper at one of the electrical supply houses. Wire, 3/4" PVC conduit and fittings, just about $500. Then there are the issues of getting through the wall top plate into the panel cavity on both ends of the run. BoomerD is NOT a sparky. I know just about enough about electricity to keep my bit dickskinners out of it.

60 amp breaker is like 20 bux. Of course you need to get the one that fits your panel. If you hardwire the charger you don't need GFCI.

Yep. The individual parts and pieces aren’t too spendy…but hiring a licensed electrician…
You can do the work and get it inspected no? As long as power is off when you do it. It's pretty straight forward. If you are driving full range everyday, I would charge at lower rate, like 32A just to lower wire temperature. Or go to 4/2

I finally got into keyboards and switches late last year and it has been the end of me. SoI had to spend today switching all the switches on a 75% keyboard, annoyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing.

But I think I am good to go for quite some time. I settled on a Hall Effect keyboard. Always gotta have a volume knob.

Absolutely fantastic for gaming, and still quite lovely for typing. These switches have a nice feel and sound to them. Gaming profile have the WASD keys on a hair trigger, some of the other most used keys on a pretty quick activation setting, and then a couple other categories. Plus a typing profile. the SOCD is pretty amazing for movement.

I've been dealing with this finger inflammation issue, got tested for rheumatoid arthritis last summer and going to be getting tested again to see if anything changed. Starting to worry it might in fact be that and it's just not showing up yet. Sure as hell hope not though, it sounds horrible. It's a degenerative disease that basically eats at all your joints and eventually starts to affect organs.

Figured another thing I can try is to cut out carbs and sugars as I'm sure that's not helping. I tend to eat lot of take-out and processed stuff. On day 5 of not eating any of that. So hard to feel full though, I'm always hungry. I could so go for a pizza right now lol Either way been really wanting to do this for a while now anyway, will force me to learn more recipes too.

Anything electrical I do has to be 100% to NEC code. Permits for homeowner DIY can be difficult from the state. I'm considering running the conduit and fishing #6 THHN from point to point. That MIGHT save me a couple hundred $$.

Getting another round of eye injections this afternoon. This time, I'm making my wife drive me home after. My eyes hurt so bad after the last round I really should have just pulled over and hung out for an hour before driving back home.

Spot's gotten at least two baby squirrels so far. She makes sure to bring them to the patio so I can admire her hunting prowess, then she eats them. I really wish she'd leave the critters aside from mice alone. I especially like my tree rats. Dunno where she's getting them from. She's a climber, but I don't know about getting way up in a tree :^(

The owl was in perfect focus in the scope. The phone decided to focus on the branches instead.
Yesterday turned out to be a good day for wildlife spotting. Great horned owl on nest, elf owls in nest, an endangered pygmy owl, a poorwill, a caracara on nest, a raven on nest, multiple redtail nests, an kestrel, harris hawk, and a western diamond rattlesnake.

Amazon combined shipping of a small electronics order with our large canned cat food subscription. Speculation on how the packaging will work out is welcome.

I ordered a big ass magnet a while back and got me wondering, if I ordered hard drives too would they be smart enough to not package that together? lol. I also wonder about the other packages on the same truck.

Fire in my wood stove keeps going out unless I leave the damper wide open. Wonder if half the chimney being completely under the snow is causing draft issues. It shouldn't though since it's insulated. The snow is also inches away from intake so should probably go clear that before next snow fall. Need to buy another shovel as the shovels I have are not really digging shovels. Need to dig a trench all around the house ideally, since having all that snow right up against the walls and windows is probably not good.

It was a rough year for your electric snowblower, I do wonder how it held up. What is your snow total to date? Good luck with all that white shiet.

We're at 156 inches so far from what I found, crazy part is parts of the south got way more. Snowblower did decently well tbh. It's main weakness I'd say is it's not as heavy as a gas one, so it spins out more easily if trying to go through thicker snow, especially if it's been established for a while as it packs down hard but it does fine with fresh fall. At the start of the season I was clearing a path to back yard but I gave up on that after that December storm. Not only is it harder to go through but there's not really anywhere to shoot it anymore as it's such a narrow and tight area. Need to shoot up because the snow is higher than the chute, but if I do that it ends up in neighbours yard. I recently started packing down a trail there instead so I can just walk on top of the snow so I can get to the back to load firewood. Should have done that like 2 months ago lol, went 2 months without using it. Shoveled out the intake yesterday too that seems to have helped. it wasn't covered but guess having snow that close to it did impede flow.

This is from the last storm, there's more snow now. We're under another advisory right now so more is coming.

Upon more thought I don't know if 156" is right, I just googled snow accumulation and found a site that said that but then I found another article saying that the data is not fully available yet, so I think it's a bit of a guestimate based on forecasts. The snow does pack over the year as well so the actual depth is less. As little as 2 feet in some areas and as much as 6-7 feet in some I'd say, just based on the drifting. Still more snow than I remember seeing in a long time. Maybe in my childhood, as we used to get more snow overall, but in past 20 or so years we get less, except for this year lol.

I just hope after all this we get a decent summer. Would suck if all it does is rain non stop. We sometimes get summers like that and it's so miserable.

Funny year here, 400 miles dead south of you. Lately, winter hasnt started in earnest until mid December and goes into April. This year went to crap in early November, deep freeze and snow. We got a 24 in dump the end of February, and thats when it ended. Nice weather since.

I had a wheel with a ripped sidewall in the bed of my work truck. Friday, ten thousand f'in' bees moved in. I figured that it was just a swarm passing through and I decided to wait them out. By yesterday, the little bastards were building honeycomb inside the tire. The bee people came and got them, wheel and all. Hopefully than can move the queen to a hive box.
