Oh man that's a shitty situation to be in. I would have a hard time with the idea of buying or selling something in that price point on Ebay because of that. Too many things that can go wrong. Also sucks how theft is essentially legalized now days. They will send 20 police officers to your house with a warrant and arrest you if you made a mistake on your taxes or some other victimless crime, but someone has stolen property and they suddenly cant do anything.

Looks like On Demand orders are a US only option.

Healthcare here is weird when it comes to stuff like that. We are limited when it comes to elective test/procedures and preventive stuff is basically non existent, everything is reactive.

snow made the school bus very late so the kids came home. So I had to drive them to school. When I passed by where they wait for the bus, I see the bus show up, 40 min late.

My hydro is around the same cost now days too. Not much has changed as far as my usage goes. Used to be like $140/mo. Everything keeps going up in price and we're being squeezed harder each year.

Speaking of outrageous prices I just bought a single bundle of fibreglass insulation and it was $160! I remember when it was like $50. Insulation in general has really been going up in price in the past few years.

Another painful PGE electric bill.
($217 for a studio apartment? Really?)
Our PGE bill was almost $1k this month. One of the perks of winter: having a teacher as a spouse and a kid who gets 3 weeks off for xmas break. Between our pool pumps running and the heaters and just overall appliance use of 2 people off work and school, it's awesome!

I'm officially old now. I wrote a comment on a sponsored fb post. It was an ad for an industrial laser cutter. In the video, the laser cutter was punching holes in steel beams. I asked why the worker shown in the video had the laser shield open and wasn't wearing eye protection while the machine was running. I suppose I'll get seven kinds of spam now. :(

Fuck HBOMax, and not just because of the giant prick named David Zaslav. Why do you I have to press the button twice on my Google 4K streamer remote to pause a fucking movie on here? Every other streaming service is just one - except YouTube - which makes sense. YT is also kind of like social media, and with lots of short form content as well, and informative content - stuff you want to bookmark and share, and like and what not. An HBO Movie is none of those things that I need to do during the watch. Netflix, AppleTV, Hulu, and all the other streaming services I've used in the past, one press=pause.

Fuck you HBOMax.

Wouldn't it be easier to drain the pool for winter? I can't imagine how much energy it takes trying to keep that water from freezing.

It doesn't get that cold where he lives. It MIGHT hit freezing a couple of times in the winter, but that's not a threat to a pool. (and draining a pool is very bad for the plaster finish)

My new electric scooter, bike thingy came today. Following the assembly instructions, I can't get passed step 1. Which is to prop it up on the kickstand, the kickstand came already on it. I fucked around with it for 45 minutes, and got so fustrated I ended up calling support. I felt like a dipshit calling tech support for a kickstand. After speaking with them three times and sending three videos and three photos, they still don't know what it could be.

I know a kickstand isn't vital to operating it, but when it comes to putting shit together I have slight OCD and hate skipping steps, even if they're not pivotal. But it looks like I might just not have a kickstand for a while, I fucked with it for 2 hours and got nowhere lol. Hopefully, a technician there will come up with an idea because I'm all out.

If it wasn't for bad luck...

Network took a bump this morning and there's close to 200 nodes down in Solar winds.

Any time there's a power bump at the office it screws up everything for a while. I have more reliable power at home lol.

For some reason I thought it was payday today, logged in my bank account and was disappointed to see balance of zero. Just realized it's next week. This time of year goes by so slow I thought 2 weeks had already gone by since last one.

As a side note that power bump must have taken out some equipment as they are still having issues and those nodes are still down. They really need to get their shit together and fix the UPS.

My fire cider supplier is going out of business. That's the second one I've lost, and their Carolina Reaper cider was the best I've had :^(

edit:
Just ordered 3 quarts. I'm not opposed to making it myself, but it's expensive to buy and make, and there would be a lot of trial/error getting the flavor I want. I just don't feel like it. I guess I'll have to see what else is out there...

yea like boomer said, it doesn't get that cold here. In my 20+ years here in the valley I can't recall seeing it snow. But the wife and daughter are always cold, so the heater is always running.

I'm dumb and have way too many tabs open on Chrome, I don't want to quick close them all because I know there are a 2-3 I want to bookmark. But going thru them 1 by 1 will take like 3 minutes  I don't know why, but when I'm cleaning up my tabs every minute I spend feels like half an hour.

They can still wear drysuits. There's no law that mandates they be in water. Now, wetsuits are another story. They work when dry, but are better with a layer of water inside.

There is a hiking trail at a county park I want to try. The trailhead is along a four lane highway with no pull off, no parking, a guardrail, and people driving 70mph down a hill. There is a trailhead sign behind the guardrail. WTF?
