Not sure finding a free cat is really a problem, some days I wish a random cat would welcome itself into my home.
We can't even say those words without a cat popping out of our air conditioner. The first thing my wife plans to do when she gets to heaven is kick St. Francis right in the Peter.

Woah that's a cool pic though, I assume this is shortly after a launch? Otherwise I don't know why there would be so many that close together in a cluster like that. Or is there actually that many everywhere and those are the only ones reflecting due to the specific position of the photographer.

Forgot I signed up for a free trial of Google Gemini AI, I went on my account to cancel it before I get charged

HOLY
FUCKING
SHIT

Google has made the process of canceling it nearly impossible, I googled this and there are so many people on Reddit complaining about this. There's literally no option anywhere for me to cancel it, it's not even showing up under my subscriptions, I see a $10.29 subscription but it doesn't tell me what it is, or have any option to remove it from my account. The convolutedness of this is really something else. Google's own docs on how to end the scription don't work for me, and a whole lot of people on Reddit either. They clearly made this nearly impossible to cancel on purpose, I'm guessing so some people will just give up and pay the $10 a month.

I've never seen anything like this before, kudos to Google for making something that should be a 1 on the complexity scale a 10. You can't even call them, and I'm sure an email to their CS will take weeks to get a reply, if ever. And hilariously, their uber advanced Gemini AI is completly fucking useless here for helping me end this subscription.

Fuck you Google, forever.

I hate when companies make it hard to cancel a service. I remember having to jump through hoops to cancel my Paypal. I would get an error if I tried to delete my bank account from it, and I would also get an error if I tried to cancel because it said you had to remove your bank account first. Their support chat is just an AI bot so that went nowhere. I actually ended up finding a phone number to call them and managed to actually get through to a person. I told them I switched banks and I needed help removing my old bank info. They did it for me, and as soon as they said the account was gone I was able to delete the Paypal account. I had heard stories of people calling to ask them to delete the account and they would refuse, so didn't want to do that in case they would flag may account in some way where it can't be deleted at all.

I overbought sugary stuff this jul, and now groceryoutlet is selling the stuff that didn't sell, and I'm buying even more.

These fuckers are good. I don't usually like wafer cookies, but I'll end up buying more next week :^S
Those look amazing. Our house is full of Christmas junk food right now and I told my entire family we don't need more Christmas junk food, we have enough. But apparently nobody can resist a deal as there is now more Christmas junk food in the pantry today than last week lol.

Wired up my PID controller for my kiln, plugged it in, and *pop*

Turns out the sticker that says pins 9 and 10 which aligns with two pins perfectly does not mean those two pins are 9 and 10. 9 and 10, the AC input pins, are on the other side. Fake 9 and 10 are the thermocouple. It does start up, but it thinks everything is 0.1 degrees, which isn't great. To their credit, there are some very difficult to see embossed numbers way down in where the screws are, the label placement is just... unfortunate.

A female friend laughed at me and called me MAGA dumb. I told her for years I'd mistakenly thought the row of EV chargers at the front of the mall parking were provided free as a courtesy by the mall to get people to want to come and shop. That made sense to me, then I learned they charge a buck a minute. I learned this probably 8 ago, so it's not like I was dumb up until today.

I understand thinking it was free was actually dumb of me, but MAGA stupid? Jesus Christ :| I might as well put a Charlie Kirk shrine up in my room now.

I wondered how they charged for that. I don't think free is an entirely unreasonable assumption. How much electricity gets "pumped" in a minute? Maybe 20¢? That's on the scale of giving it away to get people in, especially if you add government incentives that would be sensible to implement(no idea if they do).

$1/minute is odd because usually its by energy (kWh).
If you could sustain 1,000,000 (1 MW) for a minute thag would be a sick bargain for $1.

The range I've encountered in my travels is anywhere from 30-65 cents/kWh. Home charging is closer to 10-15 cents/kWh. My car's battery is 73 kWh, so a "full tank" while home charging should be about $7-10.50.

How are you tracking that? I'd be kind of curious what my levels are and if I am deficient in anything.
I bought a blood test from Labcorp. I had FSA money (non taxed account used for medical stuff that does not fully carry over into a new year) that needed spending before Thursday.

You can get it ordered through a doctor as well. Probably as part of a physical exam. Probably would cost close to nothing that way.
