I went to BJ's earlier to get a few things. When I got there, I was excited to get some free samples of food. Well, they had these mini hot dogs and I was like aw yeah. But as I picked one up, I saw it was Vienna sausages from a can. I barely had time to think before I ate it, and it was absolutely disgusting. Never again.

it's 56 f'in degrees outside! I wanted to go on a 1AM ride on my electric scooter, but even with my leather riding jacket, I'd freeze my balls off. I have no idea how motorcycle riders in the Midwest and places where it actually freezes do it. When it's 68 and I go on a midnight ride, even going only 30 I start to almost go numb. I couldn't imagine going 85 on a freeway on a motorcycle in this damn weather.

Now I need to save up money for thermal undergear.

56 is cold? I've gone running when it's 56 out in just shorts and a t-shirt.

Been snowing for past few days, we get snow in the morning then it melts throughout the day. Matter of time until it stays though. I moved my snowblower to the garage and I'm pretty much ready. I secretly hope for a big snow dump soon, like several feet. I never really got to fully test my snow blower last year since I bought it AFTER our first snow dump.

Sometimes in 2019 I deleted a whole folder of data that I didn't think I would need, turns out I was wrong and just found out today. At least I assume it was in 2019 because that's when the last backup is. There is something fishy though, I really don't think it was that long ago that I deleted the folder... I think it was that long ago that the backup last ran. Whoops! Most of the important stuff got migrated off that server a long time ago so like most of it is not even good anymore but it still gives me bad vibes realizing I goofed up like that.

I'll have to go through my cold backups to see if I can find something more recent since I feel it was only like last year I deleted that folder. Then again the years go by so fast these days maybe it really was that long ago.

Before I say goodbye to data forever, I make a winrar file of the folder. I monitor it, to see how much storage space I'm saving and if it's worth the bother, and it often is (not so much video that's already compressed) so instead of regaining all the space, the trade off is just regain some of it and have that compressed archive still around.

Most *data*, It's not a burden to keep a long time. It's just accepting that I need to stop hoarding video files, particularly things I've already watched. Do I really need every episode of Mash, Seinfeld, Miami Vice, Columbo, Lost, etc etc etc etc? Of course I do. ;) Then again, wait long enough to forget details of the shows, and then today watching them in HD on a large screen instead of SD on a smaller CRT TV, it is an enhanced experience.

Heh, after I saw your post, I remembered, I had a can of those sitting in my pantry, idea being emergency food during a power outage.

I started to crave them, and ate them. Cold. On crackers with hot sauce. I enjoyed every minute of it.

You might just be a spoiled bitch. They were great. Sodium too high tho'.

Fsck food snobs. What did you grow today? I just harvested a half dozen things (x100) due to first freeze of the season.

people are food snobs because they don't like the shittiest of the shitty canned meat in tubed form items.

Folks, enjoy our food snob level taste, we rock!

I usually do that too or at least store it on a separate drive, but for whatever reason I didn't that time. I was dangerously low on space on all my LUNs so I just started aimlessly deleting stuff that I figured I didn't need anymore. Bad plan lol. There's only really one database in there that's semi important and it's my spam filters. I have a web UI I made where I can add/remove spam filters, tweak the points etc and then it generates a spamassassin rule file. The rule file itself still works, but I have to edit it manually for now. I'll have to dig up the backup and get at least that database going again so I can keep using the UI.

I put out a box of bagged Halloween candies with a sign that says please help yourself to a bag and there are still people ringing the doorbell :colbert:
