Off to the high seas...

The sound is caused by some sort of oscillation. Does this help? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_oscillation
Thanks but no it doesn't help at all. The oscillation is due to a wire wound inductor on the driver buck board, and the only resolution appears to be extracting that buck board but the way they integrated it, means it's a risk trying to extract it, and probably more hassle than it's worth as the flashlight did not cost that much when I found a deal on it. Just a shame when something almost great, has a flaw like this. Maybe that's why the price was so low at the time before they revised it. :)

I wonder if attaching it to metal changes the direction of the magnetic field and some of that field is ending up in the buck converter. It might be saturating the coil of the inductor or transformer and causing it to run at higher current. Just a wild guess.

Though it could also be having it attached to something is just causing an existing sound you don't hear to be coupled to that surface so you hear it more. If it's using a crappy circuit it's probably running in an audible frequency or at least generating harmonics in audible frequency. If you can access the circuit board I'd throw some selastic or hot glue or something on any coil/transformer just to see if it helps.

I need a teardown video, someone who had extracted the driver, or else I'll just live with it instead of risking damage when it's not that big of a deal... I have other flashlights.

I'm in online training being read aloud by a horrific robot voice. The script writer never previewed how horrible their script sounds read aloud. More than half the sentences end with the word plan. The robot stresses the last word of each sentence. I'm being trained to despise the word plan.

Be nice if I hadn't forgot I don't have any tortillas.
From time to time, I make them from scratch. If not in a hurry, press or roll out the dough and let it rest before frying.

If in a hurry, add more water till it's pourable into an oiled skillet like it's a pancake, and practice pouring it in, in an overlapping circle pattern starting from the middle. This method usually ends up thicker.

I turn on CC and put the headset down

I was shitposting multi-tasking during the class so I couldn't keep up with CC.

most training have like one important info per slide... I tend to run it from a small 7" tablet if it is more or less podcast format, no reason to clogg up the main screen :p

I have a dedicated cheap i3-1125G4 laptop for that. Of course, last time it failed me thanks to Microsoft Teams refusing to work. Abomination, that software.

Bought the "wife requested" pride and prejudice DVD.....the tv remote won't switch the HDMI inputs. No buttons on the tv itself so fat boy gets to swap the cables.

Edit...not true, the buttons are built in and glossy black like the bezel. I still got to manually adjust the volume for her....

And we bow to bobo, our merch overlord. 😞

I live in a limited professional hood. Houses and Dr's offices. 1 block over, they're renovating. Put in a new "spot" light that shines in my shop door. It's too far for the pellet rifle and illegal for the .223. Sad days.

What is a limited professional hood?
