I think my truck starter got stolen again. Would not start this morning, would not even try, didn't have time to deal with it, had to get a cab to work. I don't think it's the battery since I got a brand new one. It was cold this morning and it was not plugged in, but it should have at least tried to turn over.
I wish it was socially acceptable to beat the living shit out of thieves instead of protecting them. This problem is only going to keep getting worse.

Meth usually burns through a community fairly quickly as the addicts die off. Then you get a few years of calm until the next generation of morons decides to take up meth. Canada's health care system might prolong bouts of meth as addicts likely die faster in the US than in Canada.

Unfortunately no cameras, been meaning to install some, just can't seem to find anything I like. I don't want wireless or cloud based or app based I just want something that is stand alone and will work with Zone Minder and is POE.
Maybe I need to start spending more time researching and find something. Need to find a site in Canada that specializes in cameras and hopefully they'll have proper ones. It's also not really going to stop thieves since they really don't care. They just show the middle finger to the camera and keep stealing. I need to come up with some sort of proximity alarm if anyone goes around/under my truck it notifies me. That and I need to get a crossbow and practice using it.

There's still a chance it was not stolen though maybe it's actaully an issue with the truck... but it does seem suspect. It's doing the same thing it did the last time it was stolen. If it was a battery issue it would at least try to start.
Sometimes an old starter will bind up. Have someone turn the key while you tap the starter with a hammer.

It's brand new, since it already got stolen once. Didn't have time to really look at it since I had to get a cab to work. Need to get some old clothes on and crawl under there to confirm if it's there but think I'll just get it towed since I don't really have time to deal with it because of work. Shitty timing for this, I was off for over a week.

Well looks like starter was not stolen after all. My dad went and said it started but after several tries, like it's not making contact. So it sounds like it might be the solonoid. Will look at it more tonight. It was super cold this morning and we've been getting warm weather so maybe it was just frozen.

It was more like a solution today than a problem.
Figured out why my car horn wouldn't toot. I'm blaming the horn itself, because I still hear a faint squeak when activated. Easy to miss even when outside the car.
Overnighting a new horn - so I can get my car inspected by the end of the month - and then registered for another year.

Got home and truck starts ok now. Very strange that happened this morning. Hopefully it holds up for rest of week, but once I'm off I'll still book it in to get checked. I eventually want to be setup to work on cars but I'm just ill equipped at this point, so rather just pay someone to look at it.
Decided to walk home from work to save the cab fare. Nice that there is light out after work now as the days are getting longer.

Pew pew pew freaking laser beams.
It's kinda bad and probably wouldn't walk that at night tbh but in daylight it's not too bad. Have to go through some bad neighbourhoods. I was keeping good awareness of my surroundings, only saw one iffy situation where I decided to cross the street to avoid it. Some guy yelling frantically at a car, looked like he was on bath salts or something. He eventually got in and the car took off, no idea what that was about. But otherwise it was actually pretty quiet. Even the drug house near my old place of work has zero activity and that one usually has some pretty bad riff raff going on, and ambulances and cops are there regularly.

My friend's wife keeps bothering me to help her set up netflix but really not giving me much details on what is even happening or what's wrong. Talked to my friend and it's starting to sound like they didn't even bother trying and just want me to set it up for them. They don't even know what their username and password is. I don't even know if they even have an account. I'm trying to fluff it back to them since I don't really want to waste my time if they don't even know their basic info. I hate that just because I work in tech people think I'm their personal help desk. They are both adults, they should setup their own TV.
