I'm guessing it will be. I was sent a video and it was a fuckton of water (think two shower heads on full). That water had to go somewhere and it wasn't an inch deep in the room so it found a way out. Just gonna be a long afternoon.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, but it happened when I was home (sleeping) so I was lucky. The water heater burst from the pressure relief valve and was leaking for at least a few hours. The water ended up flooding less than half the basement and managed to get under the framing and flow out through the garage.

apparently it doesn't clean, rather grinds away your enamel. and my enamel is very thin as it is.

That is a concern with older brushes. Newer brushes have pressure sensing technology that notifies you if you are brushing too hard.

No idea where ours ended up (nothing obvious outside). Framing under the floor that I can reach in our 'water room' is soaked, and LOTS of soaked towels, enough to fill a turkey stock pot with grey water, but nothing obvious other than that at this time. Fans and heaters are deployed, lets see what a few hours gets me.

No fucking idea what happened, it looks like a pipe connecting into our peroxide injection system just ripped the threads right off or something. I'd blame pressure if i thought our well pump could push that hard. Nothing cracked, just two threaded seals separated from each other.

Also, my dumbass forgot to have our pet sitter turn off the boiler, so an empty boiler eventually popped our pressure relief valve... going to have the water folks look at that too since it's over my pay grade.

Must be the citric acid in them. You know what else too much citric acid is bad for? Your bladder. Seriously, take care of yourself. The artificial citric acid they put in food products is way worse than the one in fruits.

FedEx was supposed to deliver the ram yesterday for the pc I'm building. The tracking page said 12/28 until I checked on the 27th and saw the date had been moved to the 31st. Oh well, shit happens. But they're fuckin bullshitters and now are saying:

UPDATED DELIVERY
12/31/2022 by end of day
Initially expected
1/1/2023

And there's a nice purple box that says EARLY. FedEx isn't even open on New Years so how the hell was my package originally expected to be delivered on the 1st?

Need to get a train. Information line says there's no train, but there's a "replacement bus service". However yesterday the same was the case but the "replacement bus service" turned out not to exist (something that regularly happens - googling it suggests it happens all over the country).

So this time phoned first to check if this alleged replacement bus service actually exists or not. The person on the information line said you had to ring another line to find that out. Then put me through to that other line. Which then just played a near-unintelligible recorded message saying (very quickly) "this number is no longer in use please ring -string of digits said far too fast for anyone to have a chance to take in-' and then disconnected.

Rail privatisation has been a complete fiasco. These rail companies just take the piss. They just game the system, in order to get paid - and collect state subsidies - while pretending to provide a service they don't actually provide.

Edit - there's a lot of noise in the media at the moment about how appallingly useless the rail services are 'up North', but given that they appear to be completely rubbish down here, I can't imagine what they must be like up there to attract special attention.
Every aspect of privatisation and neo-liberalism has failed. The whole project was a racket.

Bought an Intel 13600k today, it didn't come with the Intel Master Key so I can get Modern Warfare and a few other games for free. I called BB and of course got no help. 1 person didn't know there were even offers with Intel CPU's and the other told me to take it up with Intel as he didn't think there was anything he can do. Looking at the confusing ass Intel page that lists all the promotions, it looks like one has to be redeemed by 12/31 (of course lol) Fat chance I'll have a code by then, probably won't even have it figured out.

And Intel's incredibly stupid in how they set this shit up, they could not have made it more difficult if they tried. Why can't I go to Intel's offer page and punch in a serial number and proof I bought it from a store that's on their promo list? And they give me the damn key? They leave it up to Newegg, Best Buy, Microcenter or whoever to handle this. And from Googling, it looks like a decent number of people have this same issue. BB seems like they might fix it, but I gotta wait 48 hours and then wait for them to get me the code. By that time I won't get MW2 or whichever of the games expires tomorrow *BOOO*

And as always Best Buy has elite level 3 tech's doing their support

"what's the item?" <--- them
"13600k" <---- me
"um, is that Intel?" <--- them

Ok I forgot to say Intel, but you work for Geek Squad so how the hell do you not know that? Oh yeah, because you work for Geek Squad. And this was 1 of the people "helping" me lol. I might as well face the fact I probably won't end up getting shit. I even read somewhere Intel ran out of MW2 codes which with my luck wouldn't surprise me lol.

Didn't MW2 come out on the Xbox 360 like 13 years ago?

Yes, I just learned this is a new one, or a remake, or something. All I know is it's not old old. But I suppose if they were giving away the 13 year old version for free that would be a definite #1stworldproblem

Post on the Intel reddit. Maybe their community manager may help you.

I did that this evening, someone replied and told me to call Intel, I tried earlier but they were closed. I'm assuming it's Mon-Fri so I won't be getting a free game I'm not even sure what it is. I checked and MW2's still free after Jan and I think the same with Gotham Knights. Wost case I don't get shit, and who knows I might stay with iGPU for a year. And I know Intel's far behind AMD for integrated graphics.

This was 2 days ago, but a solid 1stworldproblem. I finished putting my new PC together and was installing Windows 11. It stopped and said it needed internet access to continue. I use Wifi and no drivers have been installed yet, and I don't have ethernet close. There's nothing on the screen to skip it, I knew there had to be a way to bypass this. But I had no other computer to look it up. I fucked with it for a solid 10 minutes and gave up and finally found an ethernet cable long enough to reach from my switch to my PC.

1st thing I did when Windows was installed was Google how to get it to install with no internet, Jesus christ, Shift+F10 open a CMD box and type OOBE\BYPASSNRO. Who the fuck is going to know this? And why and the fuck does Windows now require internet just to install. I understand Microsoft wants to track us but fuck this. For people who only have Wifi I wish them good luck figuring this out on their own unless they're a techie.

*I understand Windows will have drivers for Wifi for MOST hardware out the box so this will only apply to some people. But holy shit they need to make it simple to bypass for people like me who don't have supported hardware out of the box

That sucks.... with 10 all you need to do is disable wifi/unplug ethernet and it will skip the "online" parts.

What M$ did do in 10 that also really sucks is try to force you to sign into a Microsoft account to install updates... same "work-around" shuts that down too. For now.

:rolleyes:

OHHHH! Maybe if I had disabled Ethernet in the BIOS that would have worked. But again, MS can't expect an average joe to know how to do that. I remember Windows 95 until at least Vista every time I installed I would forget that it stops at 75% for you to select your time zone. With how many times I had to install 95/98/98 SE pausing to press 1 thing only to have to wait 15 more minutes with no more input needed was one of the worst FWP, shit.

I will say holy shit 11 installs FAST, and this was on an $8 dollar flash drive from Target.

Wait till you get a half yearly update. It takes forever to update then. I kept checking Task Manager Performance tab to see what the stupid installer was doing. It will just do nothing. CPU less than 20%. Disk activity in KB/s. And lots of pauses of nothing in between. It's like it's thinking :S

I put leak detectors by the water heater and under the sinks. Just like the smoke alarms, the weak battery beep goes off at 3am.

I ended up putting mine on my calendar for battery replacements:

* Smoke detectors
* Electronic smart door lock
* Leak alarms

I just do them every 4 months proactively & then test them. Order a giant bag of batteries off Amazon & throw them in a ziploc bag in the closest along with a folding step-stool. Never have to deal with those middle-of-the-night alarms again lol.

Wow. After reading 1/8th of the last two days posts , my last 5 hours of life does not seems as sucky, though still not great still ;). Tried for first time getting through "Solo" / whatever. I can see where money was spent but the story is suck. Directing is bad and acting better than pace of story... Stopped and started twice after a drink both times. After 1.4 barfsects... Had to turn it off... ;)
