Y'know...if you bring your own ammunition, not only can you skip the waiting period, you can also get the gun for free.....

More likely you’ll get yourself shot considering the number of armed employees walking around that place. This place also has a shooting range and a fair number of police officers shoot there.

Then maybe you're not good enough...take shooting lessons.

Sorry to hear about the land deal. Yeah, next time you need to do what you need to do & what's best for you & your plans.

I guess my current FWP is that although i'm back to work they have me working in a different department and they keep the music LOUD! Really loud!!! Driving me nuts even though i like the music they play. I keep my aspirin bottle full.

This computer case has the power button on the top and is flush mounted (not recessed). One of the cats has taken to sitting on the case because it's warm and just shut down the computer as I was working.

Woke up late today(7:45), so I was late getting to Wegmans, and they were getting crowded. I hate being around a lot of people, especially fatties that park their cart in the first 1/3 of the aisle space, and take up the other 2/3 with their fat asses while trying to decide which forms of grease and sugar they want to buy.

Plus side is they had a lot of sushi made. I particularly like the Maryland roll. Absolutely not traditional, but it's delicious.

I (regretfully) decided to do an in-store pickup of (4k Blu-ray movies) at Best Buy instead of having it shipped to me. I wanted to take a look at what they had (and possibly buy a 860 EVO 1TB and 500GB version).

Waited in line at the in-store pickup counter only to be told they are doing that at the registers now, go over to the registers to not have any cashier show up for 5 minutes. Got the movies and walked to my car only to realize they one of the movies was the wrong version, went back in to exchange it with the correct version and waited in the return line for a solid 10 minutes, and then was told they couldn't have the version of the movie I bought, and only would give me a refund.

Walked back to the movie area, picked the right version right off of the shelf, and then proceeded to go stand in the check out line again for another 7-10 minutes.

By the time I got through that, the store was about to close and I decided I will just order the Samsung drives from Amazon. :p

Bought a box of Hondashi sometime ago thinking it was 1kg. Nope, the box is the same size but it is now 600g :colbert:

Used to be one mylar pouch occupying the whole cardboard box, now it's three smaller mylar pouch loosly in the box.

Try to set up an appointment with the barber to get my hair cut lately is like trying to have a meeting with the Queen of England.

Google or my new refurb LG decided to delete 80% of my contacts. Logged in, sure enough, gone. Had a 2018 csv file I imported but no idea what I've lost from that date.

I try to remember to backup my contacts every so often. I just made one a couple weeks ago. Should keep me for awhile. I don't often get new contacts.

I'm not impressed with LG's phones. It isn't something I follow close, but I had a G3 die young, and they've had issues spanning generations of phones. I wouldn't spend any real money on an LG.

Not sure how your contacts got hosed. I've never used google stuff, but I find it surprising that don't keep versions of stuff, and/or have some kind of 'recycle bin' that could be accessed. Did you poke around their settings, or do a web search of "recover deleted contacts" or something like that?

Not much $$ in the LG either. Amazon thinq7 reused, straight talk. Water resistant for the bike. Poked around some but it was late and I had the 2018 file. I'll look some more in the AM.

The LG stylo3 was fine but 16GB ain't what it used to be. Not "All the memory you'll ever need." App and system updates sucked up the available memory.

What I'd love is a phone that is more "linuxy". Open software, no spy bullshit, not tied to Google/Apple etc. The Librem was suppose to be that, but it flopped. It seems not enough people are interested in such a thing and there's just not enough money or resources to make something decent. I think the closest thing might be a custom rom on an existing phone. Next phone I will pick based on the availability in custom roms and probably just install it right off the bat. I'd hate to screw up and brick a brand new phone though... I doubt the warranty covers that lol.

Yesterday work announced that they are completely shutting down until the 30th in order to sanitize the entire place. We are able to work from home today and tomorrow, but we have to take PTO next week (Mon-Wed.; Th.-Fri. are holidays). Lame, but sure... it's nothing new.

This is a response to employees getting COVID. I don't know the extent, but I do know one person had it maybe a month or so ago, but has been back at work for the past couple of weeks. Another co-worker just got it and has been out of work.

We have been open this entire time, but haven't enforced mask-wearing which is dumb IMO. We started with a split WFH/at-work schedule, but of course the higher-ups required us to fill out detailed timesheets. We've slowly transitioned to having more people in the office than home, which again is pretty dumb. I've been working from home as much as I can.

There has been a sign-up board near the executive area where people can sign up to get haircuts - they have someone come in. Cool.

About a week ago, HR sent an e-mail stating that they were going to have a physical trainer on-site, and that people could sign up to work with them and use the gym (which is small). For safety reasons, the sessions would be limited to just the trainer and four people... but with five people in that gym you cannot maintain 6' of distance. I haven't heard that that is canceled, but I really hope it is.

For a company run by really smart engineers, we sure do a lot of dumb shit.

@Red Squirrel , Do whatever makes you happy. You seem to like the idea of living on remote land. But research the pitfalls of owning remote land and why it might not be the best idea or investment. Find out if your family has any real insight why they're against the purchase of the land. I seriously doubt it's for selfish reasons.

I sometimes browse LandWatch. I like the idea of owning large piece of land. Something that is mine. But then I ask myself what am I going to do with this large piece of land if I buy it? I don't hunt. Just sit on it? Remote land don't really appreciate much in value and is highly illiquid. If I need to sell quick for any reason, I'll get murdered and only get pennies on a dollar. If I want to sell slow, it might take years to get one decent offer. Seems like huge hassle to own remote land. I need valid reason to buy remote land, and I don't have one. But your case is different because you actually plan to eventually live there. So I say go for it provided that's really what you want to do, and you think it will make you happy. It's your life, and you only have one short life to live.

I think that you should get a giant garage for your fleet of Teslas and Mclarens! Maybe hang a giant one of these pictures on the walls:
