Yea verily. I flipped and reinserted. The malfunction is in the linkage between the lock and the latch though. Other door has the same issue, that's why I couldn't just unlock the passenger door. I've been slacking on my maintenance - just don't have sufficient sleep to bother with non-essentials.

I start the water, then undress, so by the time I get in it's hot as shit.

But oh man, the frickin water at my apartment. It actually gets so f'ing hot it could be dangerous, it's like boiling hot. Then when you're in the shower and someone above or something flushes the toilet... OUCH. It's worst in the winter when I tend to take warmer showers, when that water hits it's like 210 deg F. In the summer my showers aren't so warm so it's just annoying. They need to adjust their water heater I think.

NoVA has been so hot we didnt see many bugs this summer. they die quickly.
HOWEVER, those fucking tree cocoons are everywhere and when they hatch theres gonna be hard times for all of us.
 
Coincidentally after talking about showers in my last post, I got a blast of COLD water this morning. Only for a second, so it wasn't a toilet flushing (which causes hot water for like 45 secs while the toilet fills). Do not like

But today for part of my breakfast I brought oatmeal. I normally will get Quaker Summer Berry/Apples & Cranberries, or Cream of Wheat Berries, and those are great. But for some reason I bought this crap oatmeal that I bought once before and didn't like. I dunno why. So I dumped a bunch of sugar in it and it's at least tolerable now. Soulfull? Moar like fecesfull amirite

I thought my lumber was going to be delivered today but just realized I screwed up the date and it's being delivered tomorrow. Problem is I'll be stuck at work. I hope they come late enough in the afternoon so it does not sit on my front lawn too long. Theft in my city is super bad.
 
Got a promotion about five months ago and still no office of my own. Still sitting in my cube in the R&D lab, with no sign of moving. I get it, there aren't any open offices available, but still.

Today I decided to commandeer one of the smaller meeting rooms. Booked it in Outlook for the whole day. Nobody bothered me and I was able to focus for a change.

I'll do it again tomorrow and the next day, and the next... until they get the idea and give me my own goddamn office.
 
Rock auto has let me down. Well, it was 7/2018 but still. Wife lost the left tow cover on the RAV4. $7...I dicked around because I didn't want to pay $35 for the paint+clear coat. Finished it up last night and.....it doesn't fit. Double checked the order...yep, right one (after market), oos now.

So much for the year return policy. Idiot.

3 weeks later and some effing connection is jacked up for the screen. He's 2hrs away at college, no local apple store and his classes started yesterday so it's a bit important.
 
Well...this actually happened yesterday, but I'm still reeling from it, so...

I am now the owner of a Japanese automobile...😱 a 2010 Subaru Outback wagon...with only 24,000 miles.

When we lived in Silverdale, we lived in a senior citizen manufactured home community. (VERY NICE old people "trailer park") We got to be friends with many of the people there, and I "adopted" one older couple. He's almost 91, she's in her late 80's. She had a major brain bleed last winter...almost killed her, left her with some mobility issues, but thankfully, her mind is more or less still intact.
I had mentioned to her daughter (who lives in Alaska, but comes down all the time) that if/when the time came, I'd be interested in buying the car. She wasn't interested in selling it, and thought that when that time came, she'd give it to one of her sons. OK.
She called Tuesday to see if I was still interested. YES, HELL YES.
Very well maintained car, nearly new Michelin tires, leather interior, etc.
Drove over yesterday and picked it up...my wife LOVES the car. AWD, so it will be good for the occasional snowy day we get here, roomy enough for us and the two little rat dogs.
But dammit...it's JAPANESE! 😵
I've owned ONE rice burner in my life...a 70's Datsun pickup that I gor when my BiL defaulted on a loan my FiL had co-signed...good gas mileage for my 100+mile commute at the time.
Otherwise, American Iron...or German. (Loved my Bimmers)

My brother, a ford man, had a sticker on one of his work trucks that said , "Hungry, out of work? Eat your import." I would happily remind him that my Honda lasted 19 years before I sold it and he'd been through several Fords during the same time period.😛 My Tacoma will be 10 this Dec, 86k miles, and I have yet to do anything but routine maintenance.

For all the cars/trucks I've owned in my life, I bought my first ever Ford in 2005. When I was younger and worked on cars as a semi-profitable hobby, I refused to work on anything Ford. "My wrenches don't fit no fucking Fords," so, when we bought the Expedition, my wife asked if I was now going to have to buy new wrenches...yes, I said...and I did. 😛

No such thing as an American car anymore. It's all a shell game of imported parts, and some of the "imports" are more American than the American brands.

Mom didn't want me to touch her this morning. I think she tangled with the hornets last night. There were two carcasses next to her food bowl, and she was looking up at the nest. Badass little kitty.
 
Screwed up the date for my lumber delivery and instead of getting it yesterday when I was off it came in today. My fault, not HD's fault. Gave them the wrong date.

So when I got home from work I had to haul it all in the back yard so it does not get stolen overnight. (theft has gotten super bad in my city, anything not locked down is legal to take, cops even say so). I was stuck hauling it all after work and now I'm dead tired. Did not even eat yet. I might just go grab a baconator combo. Need protein and that's faster and better than anything I can make.

I was too weak to finish so the patio stones and 2x6x16s stayed behind but I'll just stick my gopro in time lapse mode in front of the window. Anyone that steals that is going to need a truck and some time, I'm bound to catch something. Not that cops would do anything but I can at least shame them on FB. That's about all you can do these days. 😛

Technically the whole shed could be loaded on a trailer. I'm actually surprised this does not happen to people. It's technically not locked down. You go to cops to report it and they'll just ask if it was locked down and tell you "lock it or lose it". That's literally what they tell people.
