My mongoloid cat has started in the past several days doing something dumb with his food. So I have these "exercise balls" for him where you put food in them and they have little holes in them, and the idea is the cat gets exercise by hitting the ball around to get the food out (Amazon link). How well this actually works is another story.

But my cat normally will ignore little bit pieces that fall out of the ball (like a quarter size of a pea, say) because he's apparently too good for that nonsense. But just recently he's been pushing the ball around and just leaving the regular sized food bits that fall out on the floor. I came home yesterday from work and there was a whole bunch of cat food he had left on the living room floor. I was like wtf man you crazy. I picked it all up in my hand and offered it to him but he was more interested in sniffing my hand/fingers and just ignored the food.

Not sure what's up with that. It's the same food he's had for a long time (I've used Purina ONE Weight Control/Hairball/Healthy Metabolism for years), and he empties his regular food dish of it. Strange cat.

Was trying to figure out what I wanted to eat, and remembered I had smoked salmon poke bowl kits in the fridge. Very exciting! Open one up, stick the rice in the nuker, and pull the other ingredients out. Something isn't right... Feels oily, and smells like salmon... Fuck! The salmon pack was open. Briefly consider what the worst that could happen would be(Not in the mood for intimate relations with my toilet tonight), and grudgingly get my last kit out, and used the salmon from that.

I got them from aldi, and they were kinda expensive. Didn't notice the price, but in the past they were $5+. I'd still be losing money if I took it back, so I'm out $5 :^(

sushi at a restaurant or takeout, sure. meal kit meant to stay in fridge a few days? err, no.
The fish was supposed to be a sealed packet that didn't seal. Same as the low-mid tier sushi places. If you're squeemish about that, you shouldn't be eating sushi.

How long do you figure that stuff stays in the fridge at the restaurant?

Not that I'm into that myself. I prefer my food cooked, especially animal products.

Not the same. You taking that stuff home means it is no longer refrigerated. Consumed right away is not much of an issue. Sticking it back in the fridge for a few days is.

I just got home from work, switched to shorts and put my hair in a half pony tail with anticipation of going for a walk, but it started to rain out of nowhere.

At 4:30 pm this past Friday I got volunteered for doing weekend on-call. I was not happy, but was told that two of my future weekends would be then taken by someone else instead. So it was a good deal. But for some reason another guy was told he was on-call and so there was two of us. And he had to go and open his mouth to the person that asked me and now I only have one weekend taken by someone else, rofl. I guess it's fair but I still am bummed by that (I hate on-call so bad). Figures the guy that babbled is the douche guy no one likes; if this was any of the other guys on-call they would've just laughed and forgotten about it. Poop

The last iTunes update reset CD imports from lossless to 128k. Now I have to re-rip three albums.

She bought 2lbs of shrimp too.
So what's the problem? 4 chicken breasts and 2 lbs of shrimp is nothing. You could do jerk chicken for 2 and piri piri chicken for the other two. And skewer the shrimp and grill.

I'm about to cook 7 lbs of prime picanha steaks, 1 lb of jumbo scallops, 1 lb of gulf shrimp for tonight's dinner. That's just for the 3 of us and our dog.

Skeeters...flocks of the little buzzing, biting sumbitches.
Our summer has been cooler than normal, so their arrival was delayed by a few weeks...but they're here...and they're HUNGRY.
I have a 1 ac. dynatrap in the back yard. Catches some skeeters...and a ton of moths...but the skeeters still make it miserable as hell when I'm outside.
