Tried to play UT on my TV as I wanted to experiment gaming on the TV so I can eliminate the need for a KVM, but it was a terrible experience. A combination of things. The mouse and keyboard I got are just awkward to use. Mouse feels like it has lot of resistance to it and it was harder to move/aim etc, keyboard felt weird too, like my jumps etc did not always go through. Then of course the posture and fact that screen is further even though it's bigger also made it harder to play. Felt less immersive.

Ended up just ordering another KVM, hopefully this one works and is not super flaky like all the other ones I tried. Seems to be hard to find a good KVM now days, they're mostly all junk. I can't believe they still make so many PS/2 ones too, like I'd say more than half of them are PS/2 and VGA.

Onpoint(my credit union) put a fraud block on my debit card.
(not out of money,thankfully)...

So now I've got to go into the credit union on Monday,and get a new debit card.

Had to do that to get a quick colonoscopy, didn't have to go far so just did it awake standing up. Doc was giving me a shoulder massage with both hands while doing it, cool guy. He's a chiropractor on the side too and would normally charge extra for that.

Wanted to use my 3d printer for the first time in a while... 9 months, according to my octoprint logs.

So of course the darn thing didn't work. For some reason only my desktop PC actually recognizes the printrboard and will connect/print. The laptop and the OctoPi won't see it at all.

And in the intervening 9 months, the company that made it went out of business and took their website offline, even though there was a bunch of really great tutorial and troubleshooting material that IMO somebody should have legally been required to keep hosting. Dammit.

We're rearranging the network drives again in vain hope of achieving consistency of form and efficiency of function. The data gods have let me know that my new digs will be shared with several coworkers who have nothing to do with my work. It's like they went through the employee directory and randomly selected work buddies. Apparently, with the new, improved permissions groups, I will no longer be able to share my directories without submitting a help desk ticket and beseeching the data gods to modify permissions whereas I was empowered to do so previously.

Had an easy house stakeout in the morning. Got back to the office, and the boss wasn't there, so I took my saws out to clear a pasture. Lots of fun! Problem... It's a clusterfuck of vines. Vines growing on vines, and tearing down trees so they lay on a stack of vines with ground nowhere to be seen. . Got the small stuff with my little saw, then pulled out my big one to take care of some larger wood. Sharpen my chain up. 84 drive links, which should be 42 teeth. Takes awhile... make a half dozen cuts, and stick the bar in the dirt. FUCK!! I only have two cuts left on that log, so I power through like a dumbass, with the saw making little dust instead of nice chips. I get through it, sharpen the chain again. Take down the rakers a bit, and it's cutting like a dream...

Start on the next big log. Another half dozen cuts, and sparks come out of the kerf. That's not good... Can't even power through now. It's not cutting at all. Put it on the tailgate, and the teeth look like I was cutting steel. I guess there was a rock somewhere under the vines :^S Sharpen it yet again. Takes a lot of filing to get rid of the damage, and I'm about 2mm from the witness marks on the chain. Get it straight, finish the log I was working on, and touch up the teeth *yet again*. I'm done with the big saw, but I almost always sharpen it before packing it away. Did I mention it's 42 teeth?? Chain's shot. I'll use it one last time on decent wood, but after that, it'll be a stump chain for one last death run til the teeth fall off.

I spent almost as much time sharpening chains as I did cutting, and my shoulders are sore from swinging a saw around cutting vines. Gotta say, I really appreciate the 16" bar on the echo when it's time to file. Takes a fraction of the time it does for the 25" bar. Oh. and I was gonna spin a loop of stihl chain for the echo tonight, but forgot, and left my stuff in the truck. Don't feel like going out to get it now. PITA day, but I guess it was still better than doing my usual work :^D
 
I have a new supervisor that I am training. We have contractual deadlines to get documents to clients and stuff is stacking up on her desk. I've discussed with her which stuff has short deadlines and needs immediate turn-around. I've had to have the same discussion three times in three weeks and stuff still isn't moving. Her review mainly consists of making sure I didn't insert midget porn in the documents; it isn't rocket surgery. The delays are hosing clients' project schedules and she seems oblivious. I guess I need to start transferring client calls upstairs.

My new knife that was supposed to come yesterday got postponed and was then supposed to be delivered today. But... SURPRISE, I'm at work (lotta people tend to be during the day) and there's f'ing signature confirmation on it so they left a notice (I'm still at work, I checked online). So there was an "action required" link that allowed me to reschedule delivery or pick-up; I chose the latter. No idea when I can pick it up though. I wish they would've just left it in my fucking mailbox like 90% of the shit USPS delivers. That's too easy though.

I sure have had crappy luck with delivery stuff lately.

I was going to say it's ridiculous how the forum has to go down for so long, but my forum has been down for YEARS. I wanted to do a 4 to 1 migration and then I just kept getting side tracked with other projects. I really should finish that. Basically combining 4 forums into 1 for easier maintenance. A lot of it is done I just need to tweak a lot of stuff. But at this point I may as well upgrade to whatever is the latest version of the forum software I started off with since it's been so many years lol.
 
I wanted to cut wood today, but I had to do my job. As soon as I finished my stupid task, it started raining, and I couldn't cut wood :^/

I can pretty much do what I want, but I always feel obligated to do my work when asked. I really need to stop that :^D
