To go from 30k to 80k in a short time is quite fast growth. Your city is probably getting more of a big city mentality. 80k is still pretty big. My city hovers around the 45k mark but it feels busier than it used to be, like more traffic etc. I would not mind living in a smaller city, but I have a good job and most of my family is here so I stick around. There's a city of about 1,300 a couple hours from here that is practically giving away house properties as they're trying to recover from when a paper plant shut down years back. It's kinda tempting.

Oh, man. The crime here has gone up and that's been complicated by the fact they allowed pot usage in this asshole state. I so want to find a nice town in Texas to live in. Tired of this jerk off state.

Go for it. My understanding is that lots of places in Texas are hiring left and right. If you want really small cities, maybe see if there's something you can do in Wyoming.

I don't want to go to Wyoming. I want to try and escape the cold as best as possible. Yeah, there are lots of jobs in Texas and in fact, a lot of Californians are moving there.

I definitely miss living in the wilderness. It's unfortunate that my career and my lifestyle desires don't match up very well.

I'm working from home and my laptop's AC adapter isn't powerful enough for it to run at full speed, so I have to shut it down, let it charge, use the battery up, and repeat. Also I've got a cold.

I was going to post about my work computer deleting its own sound drivers again and say something bad about HP when I remembered that my computer was replaced since the last time it aborted its own sound drivers. So I'll have to rant about HP another time. This rant is for IT support that pushed out an image update and deleted the sound drivers. It's not a terrible thing as the only time I use sound is to watch really crappy online training and my company has a knack for selecting people with unpleasant voices to read the scripts like___it___is___their___first___time___ever___reading___aload_aloud.

Today is trash pick up day so I went to the curve and throw a small bag of trash into the trash car before I head to work. A dog took a dump right on the concrete section of the curve so I did have to get a trash bag to pick them up. Stupid irresponsible dog owner. Pick it up after your dog did the deed, damn it.

Understood. I was just trying to come up with something that could possibly fill that much space. All the photos/videos I've taken and all the music I bought doesn't take up that much space.

This is to expand my close to full 35TB :awe:

8,000,000MB / 1024 / 1024 = 7.62939453125 TiB. With drive overhead, that could be what's happening.

Not far enough. 8,000,000,000,000 Bytes / 1024*1024*1024*1024 = 7.27TiB.

There's really no such thing as "drive overhead" at least not to a degree most people would notice. A few MBs for a partition table, and maybe 1-2 GB per TB for the MFT.

Every time I clear out my moms garage, she puts more crap in there. It actually gets slightly worse each time.
I may just have to burn it. I dunno.

Also, her tire pressure drops a little each day in the winter. I finally put on those fancy indicator stem caps. They work nicely.
32 psi, if anyone's interested.

Oh, and my main first world beef today is they only sell valve stem caps in 4 packs. If you're a normal healthy sane adult you'd want to replace your spare tire cap the same time you replace your driving tire caps.
