Wanted to get some pre-storm footage with my Phantom drone but the stupid app takes like 3-5 tries to load successfully without locking up, so all that screwing around took too long and the rain started.

I guess I was cutting it close anyhow, probably best for that to happen than the rain to start when it's in the air.

Speaking of which I asked a local mine permission to use their tailing fields as a place to fly my drone, the guy I spoke to seemed to be cool with it but he will check with his manager and let me know. Will be great if I can go there.

We were on our way to having two dead kitties yesterday. As I posted in another thread, Leon died yesterday, which while sad, was not unexpected as he was old and was in a long term health decline. Reggie (below) either had a stroke or possibly has a brain tumor. He's headed to the vet this week to see if we can figure out what is going on. Either way, this isn't what was going to get him killed last night. He has become very vague about his surroundings and gets "stuck" in places like corners and spaces between the furniture. If his brain was working correctly, he would simply back out. But his brain isn't working correctly so he tries to keep moving forward and then panics when this doesn't work. Last night, Reggie got stuck between two stacks of Rubbermaid storage boxes. Panicking, he managed to get twisted around and get his neck wedged between two of the box handles on the second layer of boxes, effectively hanging himself. We heard his thrashing and freed him. He's okay but now we're trying to figure out how to Reggie-proof the house.

whenever I turn my phone off/on, the camera resets to default.
default = max resolution, flash off, and no grid lines.

but max resolution kills my data. 🙁
flash = off sucks because that means I have to retake the pic.
no grid lines means poorer object placement in the pic frame

My team leader is being moved to a new position. His is up for grabs. Our convo this morning.

TL: You have your updated resume right?
Me: Nope.
TL: Is that a conscious decision?
Me Yes.
TL: I understand its not for everybody but you may want to think about updating your resume.

TLDR: My team leader was basically telling me if I put my resume in I'll get his job. Not worth the 10% pay increase for 30% more work and 100% more headaches.

First of all, it was freaking hot today. The temp was in the 90's but the heat index was 105.

I went to Kroger to shop and the check out girl entered the code of my green cabbage as green lecture so I overpaid about $0.50.

Then I stopped by Domino's because of the $7.99 large pizza with 3 toppings plus I have a gift card of $20 which I paid $10 last week. I was so hungry and the pizza was hot right off the oven so now my upper mouth has a minor burn. Oh, and the pizza was more greasy than normal. So much for my try to be healthier diet, right out the door.

And don't let me start with how expensive orange juice is, $4-$5 a gallon for cheap store/generic brand and $6 and higher for premium brands?

Sucks. I should try to preorder one, I kinda want one, but not bad enough to camp or deal with crowds. But if I can preorder then I'll get one.

Between emulators and Virtual Console on the wii I kinda already have my nostalgia fix though, but it would still be a neat thing to have.

didn't book my flight home until last night. now I'm sitting at the airport stuck in economy plus because there were no first class seats available. need to figure out how to interact with common folk and make it through the flight without breakfast being served.
Ask about their peasant job and what kind of pittance they make - then exclaim "HOW CAN ANYONE LIVE ON LESS THAN <insert what you make - 25%>"

I had this exact experience, and that's why I chose not to be poor.

You could change a life! The same goes for all of us making ATOT minimum wage (100k) or more - tell the peasants you meet how much better it is to be smart and hard working and rich - that way they know!

The Pet Valu close to my house stopped carrying my cat's food, so I went to the one at the mall and they only had one bag of a slightly different version of that food. Seems they are not carrying it anymore either. Need to now transition my cat to another food or see if I can find it at another pet store. I bought the slightly different version for now. They sell the right one on Amazon but it's like 3x the price of buying it locally.

I have a cup of coffee, I want to drink some.

I reach out, and then stop, because I'm afraid if I pick it up it will be empty.

There's another half-pot of coffee on the machine. Damn lizard-brain.

Fridge died last night & replacement parts will take a week to arrive. Mah food 🙁

Guess I'll just have to eat out all week 😛

You don't have a Ronco™ PocketFridgerMan™? I thought you were kitchen gadget freak?

Haha...I do have a deep freezer, but not a spare fridge.

Disassembled the fridge last night, they are amazingly simply devices...motherboard, condenser, and a few fans, plus the physical fridge unit for insulation & shelving. Assuming I don't electrocute myself, the parts swap should go pretty smoothly 😀

I did just buy like 48 eggs because I've been doing a ton of homemade custard-style ice cream, so I guess I'll be doing allllll of the batches tonight lol.

I've got a bumper crop of crab grass but I can't spray because it's going to rain for the next 3 days. That will make the flowers happy but crab grass is going to be out of control.

Went to pay bills for my clients and the machines were down at both regular locations so I did have to travel extra distance to other locations. One hour extra and more than a few extra miles on my vehicles just because. Too bad no extra pay because the pay was per gig/completed task(s) and not per mile/hour.

Dealing with this weird heat wave here in Portland,OR.
Thank God for air conditioning.
(70 degrees F @ 5 AM,on our way to 107 degrees F later on this afternoon.)

I took the last 3 days(Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday) off from work.
Dreading going back to work this morning,as the mailroom where I work has horrible A/C.

(To make matters worse, they often leave the loading dock door-it's a roll-up garage door-style- open to the outside, which lets all the heat in).
