I realized the spring/snap thing isn't on my overpriced braided USB cable... It's on my 6 year old, heavily used computer case side.

Damn it, Amazon... An item I had im my cart just went on sale. I was planning on buying it with cash locally -- how I do my expenses. Credit card dollar /= cash dollar in my head.

The dog probably didn't mind.

Some compulsive shopper/hoarder bought a giant 3'x6' painting from the west coast, had it shipped to the east coast. According to her, it was $1000 and she can sell it in the future -- painting by a no-name, nobody.

She had it shipped to her parents' house -- where she stashes 99% of her garbage, 2.5 rooms full -- despite technically living with her boyfriend. Trivia: do you think the painting went with her or into her stash at mom's house?

And my Ooma's been down for days, apparently. Don't use it much so didn't know.

Edit: So, all I needed to do was reboot my Ooma. That was hard. Diagnostics were saying it was fine. Thank goodness because I had no idea how I was going to run diagnostics on the freaking phone itself.

Craigslister contacted me 5 hours ago and I just got back to him... He still hasn't gotten back to me ten minutes later.

Sounds like my wifes old Beanie Baby collection.

I have to install a doorbell for my sister, I wanted to do it during the day to get it over with so I can move on to other things, but she said "after supper" so now I'm waiting for a text so I can come do it. It kinda wasted my day.

I have to wait around for the next hour to pawn my Craigslist thing. In my damn air conditioned building -- would prefer windows open actually.

Well this is bad.

I built a new system for my nephew late last year and I was left with his old Core i5 build (no PSU or HDD). To test an Elgato HDMI game capture device, I threw a 64GB SSD in there with an new/unused 650W Thermaltake PSU I had sitting around. I installed Windows 10 (just a trial, no product key), tested the game capture device, and disconnected it. I eventually planned to combine parts from the Antec 900 case with another and make another system out of it.

When the Windows 10 upgrade deadline was hours away, I gathered a few unused systems that still ran Win7/8. I grabbed the PSU from that i5 system and noticed it has sticky dried-up soda on it and inside. #@$%$#!!! It was only ever used for a few hours!

I pulled the video card out and found sticky dried-up soda on that too. I looked in the bottom of the case after removing the PSU and there was sticky dried soda there.

So a guest must have spilled soda into the 200mm fan of the Antec 900 case and wiped the top clean without telling me. It happened within the last 8 months.

I'm guessing it was the friend I allowed to stay at my place for about 1 month.

No good deed goes unpunished...

😱

I had a small collection of Teenie Beanie Babies from McDonalds. Not sure why. I guess it was the challenge of trying to get them all, which of course is virtually impossible by design. I had them for years, decided it was stupid, and gave them out in birthday grab bags for my daughter's parties. Pretty nice giveaway compared to the usual junk that gets given, so I guess it was worth collecting.
