Spent 15 minutes humping all the shit that was to be donated back into the house. Now that there's a mound of shit in my living room, I'm more pissed... I fucking phoned to request a pick-up almost one month in advance. You gave me a 10 hour window for a pick-up, had my address, had my phone, and you still fucked it up. I would be more understanding if they worked off a list and if they missed you, they'd be back the day after. But no, they'll be back in 5 effing days. What the hell?

My work computer is being forced rebooted again. Pisses me off. I was in the middle of swacting radios with a tech on the phone. I was able to set my clock back 24 hours but I can't let that go all night as I'll loose my domain membership and have to get IT to put the PC back in. So sometimes tonight when it's more quiet I'll have to set clock back and re-enable NTP service and then let it reboot. Then spend 20 minutes reopening everything again. What a freaking pain.

I have Quicken 2013. May is "Fuck Our Customers Month" at Intuit so if I want to keep using Quicken, I have to buy it again Adding injury to injury, Amazon is pushing out an unpatched version. If I upgrade, it will brick until the big ass patch is installed. Intuit is also demanding that customers create an Intuit online account to use the new version. I'll wait a few days and see if things get sorted out. Amazon reviewers are reporting 70 minute waits for Intuit customer service. Intuit's call center is a few blocks from my office. Maybe I can ask them to send up white smoke when they get their shit together.

I miss MS Money.

How much is the software? It might just be easier to get the taxes done professionally. My tax person charges $40, last I checked some of these software packages are like $60 and you have to buy the newest each year as the tax rules change all the time.

It's not tax software.

NOW:

I'm trying my luck at recycling some electronics tomorrow -- going to have to hump a bag of double-bagged shit to the curb in a bit. It's supposedly collected by a second garbage truck, not the one that picks up the garbage, but I swear, if they don't pick it up, it's going in the trash.

There's not a donation drop off place you can bring it to? Here there's a church and there's this little door/compartment section you can drop off bags of clothes etc. TBH I'm actually surprised at how it works because you could easly crawl in and then steal stuff, wonder if it happens. :/ People can be jerks.

This reminds me I do have a bunch of stuff I need to look at donating. Lot of clothes I don't put on anymore or that don't fit me anymore etc.

There's a Value Village about a 20 minute drive away, but then I'd have to load it into a car and drive, or pay $20 for a taxi.

Bought a bunch of 7" Kindle Fire tablets on sale for $39 to use as wall-mounted music players for a business project.

Wall mounts cost $20 each :p

The Duncan donuts kiosk in the building right next to mine was closed.

The vending machine with peanut-butter cups was not taking my wrinkled old dollar bill, and the cafeteria wants a ridiculous amount of money for a cookie ($1.69) I only have a dollar.

I had to walk maybe a quarter of the way across the campus where I work to the actual Duncan donuts to buy a donut! I was almost hungry after walking back to the office at the end of my lunch break.

There are more than a few Bluetooth wireless headsets now. Considering that I bought $300 wired headphones, an extra $100 doesn't seem like a bad deal. But me no want the radio waves broadcasting to/from my head for hours...

Boo ya! The garbage man picked up my electro trash.

Donuts and cookies are way too damn expensive these days.

I think if you need your fix then maybe you should bake your own stuff and carry it in a tupperware.

I stopped at a gas station to fill up on the way home from work. I was in a hurry and not really paying much attention until I was about half way filled up. I took a look at the pump and saw the tamper resistant sticker was voided. I got home and checked my recent transactions and saw I got charged $150 for the fill up. Needless to say I cancelled my card. The transaction was still pending so I believe I am OK. I ALWAYS check those stupid stickers and the one time I forgot was the first time I have ever seen one voided.

When you pay with credit they usually put a hold on for a larger amount, like $150, but when it clears the amount will be adjusted to the proper amount.

Ahhh ... I had no idea.

Thanks, I feel better now. I still think the pump was tampered with, but maybe those numbers just get stored for later usage.

Couple year old FWP: I was in the field with the most bitter person in the office and had to listen to him bitch about how Dairy Queen sucked and why Warren Buffett would invest in it. We had lunch there, I enjoyed it.

If it's a headset, it's going to be receiving a lot more data than transmitting.
Unless you're sleeping on your Bluetooth transmitter, you're going to be soaking up microwatts of radio energy. Even if you're soaking up more than that, it's still non-ionizing radiation, so any absorbed radiation is just going to turn into heat. But you're also a bag of chunky saltwater with built-in thermal regulation.;)

(I'm generally not concerned about the dubiously alleged health hazards of low-level non-ionizing radiation, if you couldn't tell.)
