The vending machine in the engineering office only had strawberry Pop Tarts this morning. I really wanted cinnamon and brown sugar but that would have required me making a walk into the shop to visit a different vending machine. I settle for the clearly inferior strawberry. This all started because I left my oatmeal in the fridge at home.

We have a box of cinnamon & brown sugar pop tarts behind glass that says "break in case of emergency" for when a specific manager gets upset

It's been used once

Prices went up at the local Taco Bell, 20% higher (from $5 to $6) plus sale tax.

Time to eat healthy(er).

I ordered ten gold Mercury Dime from US Mint last Thursday and paid extra for UPS next day air to get it faster. My order has yet to ship while others who chose the slow ground shipping already got theirs. Government at work.

I need to put down crabgrass preventer but the instructions say to do it on a dry lawn and its been raining the past few days.

I wanted to work in the garage yesterday but it was raining so hard that it was blowing water in where I was working and I like having the door open so I resorted to playing video games in the basement.

My sump pump battery backup isn't being charged by the battery tender any more so I need to run to harbor freight and pick up an $8.00 battery tender to replace the defective one.

I want to drive the m3 to work, but with the rain, I've been keeping it in the garage and driving the truck instead. According to the onboard computer in the truck, I have 51 miles left until empty, so guess I need to stop and put gas in it on the way home, but its raining cats and dogs and I dont' want to get wet.

I realized that measuring out the dry ingredients for my baking took the most amount of time, and that I could pre-measure all the dry shit, story it, then add the wet stuff when i'm read to bake. Now what will I use as an excuse to not use up my kilo of ingredients...

You've got crabgrass? I'd take any kind of grass over whatever is in my so-called lawn now. The dandelions I recognize. But there is some shit out there that is straight outta the Jurassic.

TV just told me that there are 86 men for every 100 women in Mother Russia. I mean, it took a brutal world war, a couple czars, and hard living to get there, but...

Edit: I found out that my swivel chair could explode and send a rod up my asshole.

Made my cornbread with poverty canola oil... can't figure out why I didn't use one of the big blocks of butter that we never use in the fridge.

Can it even be called cornbread without bacon fat, lard, or in a pinch, butter?

Tore up some good-as-new, probably-never-touched-by-human-hands carpeting from the closet in the guest bedroom, to patch some pet damage and high traffic spots in the living area. (SHOES OFF INSIDE!)

This is after we spend about six months hitting different carpet stores, hoping to find a match. (The original builder of the house was, surprisingly, still in business, but couldn't tell us anything about their suppliers.)

The patches are fine, except the closet carpet was in way better condition than the surrounding areas, so the patches will be obvious until we break it in a bit.

Also, not I have to find something to put on the floor in the guest bedroom closet. (Probably cheap linoleum or something. We're starting to outgrow this place.)

My neighbor had a visitor or something, parked a giant SUV in his driveway, way too close to his second car and our fence, and kept the car alarm going for a good hour and a half. Wanted to go out there a chuck a rock at it to give it something to really cry about.

Had to wait in line for 10 min. for a Rx that, if not covered by my health plan, would have cost me $300. Grrrrrrr.........

No. I put down a preventer to make it not come up, at least, thats what all my neighbors do. Once now and once in 2-3 months.

have no clue how a $20 got in there and I counted the $5k myself.

now I have $5020.
threw off the whole fung shei thing and sensing impending bad luck, I went home.

wasted an hr of my time because I had an extra $20

...unless he was intending that it serve as a charitable donation to the reservation.

Tell us, JEDI: was it a reservation casino?

hell no.
no way am I gambling in a place owned by Indians (feather, not dot).
those casinos are lawless lands. the state gaming commission has no power over them

Indian casinos have looser slots, at least, based on my father in law's findings.

Half of an airfare ticket is 'service fees'
Half of a ticket to concert/any form of entertainment is 'service fees'

A plane ... fine. I'll let that slide for fuel, salaries, etc. However, I'm not sure about you, but I've never received any service at a concert. They don't even deliver the beer. I have to wait like a fucking peon in a line 78 miles long for a $14 can of beer. The only service is afterwards, free of charge, in the back seat of a car.

:awe:
