I need a scale and the one I want is at Ikea... To ship it, I'd have to pay $12. To buy it at the store, I'd have to pay $6 for the bus and spend 3 hours. Is having to brave the overcrowded public transit system worth $6 to me?...........................

Have a bunch of Kohl's coupons that I could use for some new shirts, but if I order them they'll be delivered when I'm on vacation next week. Don't want them sitting outside while I'm gone for 12 days. I guess I could ask my neighbor to take it in....

My cornbread was underdone in the middle so I blasted it for 15 minutes back in the oven............ Now the top is slightly burned, FML.

Because I live with intellectually disabled people, I spent 10 minutes reorganizing the entire fridge just to put two small containers in there. All because they won't throw out useless shit sauces they haven't used in years. Now only the front 1/3 of the entire fridge is usable.

One of your members said I should "rent a sense of humor" or jump off a building. or hop my ass in an RV that falls off a cliff and die." And at first I almost attempted the second fate. This is not a very nice place :(

My brain and PC are incompatible with the software that mourns here.

Sounds like you've got a busy afternoon ahead of you. Personally, I prefer to use TPAD but, considering your unfamiliarity with our attitudes, you probably wouldn't understand that either.

DIAF, crybaby. ;)

I have to do a fucking registry hack to force Microsoft Excel to open spreadsheets in two separate windows.

Would you mind sharing?

I'm trying this one, but it's not working.

http://dottech.org/26491/how-to-force-microsoft-excel-to-open-files-in-new-window-how-to-guide/

I've got an extra argument at the end of my command string that doesn't seem to be in the guide. If I try to add in the "%1" and rename the rest as they suggest then excel can't open files.

I tried removing the extra argument and just add the "%1" and it's not working either.

I've "only" got a 3 x 20" monitor arrangement and I'm forced to work in a single monitor with Excel sheets split screened in one of them.

LAME.

Why wouldn't opening two instances of Excel work?

Because it doesn't work. It forces the 2nd instance into a window within the first. Some dumbass at Microsoft thought this was useful. Just like they thought it was brilliant to include a snipping tool in Windows 7 to do screen captures but not include a fucking print option from the drop down menus within it.

I open multiple instances of Excel all the time. They always open in their own windows with independent positioning. Been doing it for years like that.

It doesn't work. It opens multiple excel sheets within one running program. It's the WORST. I feel your pain, vi.

No, I mean run multiple instances of the actual Excel program. Then open the spreadsheets you want to work with in their own instance.

Ah. Gotcha. Yeah that does seem to work. Frustrating part is that I'm typically running from email attachments or network shares and having to save local or browse back is just a bunch of extra clicks. I just want it to open in a separate window without having to do that.

Me too, all the time. Good luck on your quest, let us know if you have success.

It's called "MDI." I've always hated applications that use Multiple Document Interface. AOL used to do this with web browser windows!

My $1 Dr. Pepper from McDonalds tasked like brown water, but I had already exited. To go back would have cost me 10 minutes and 1/2 mile. Now I'm angry and have no Dr. Pepper. I'll just have to put a can in the freezer.

The guy who runs the jumpers on the MDF took another day off so I had to do it today instead of network surveillance and there were lot of orders today, and they all had ADSL which adds a step as you need to go from line equipment to the DSLAM and then to the out pair, instead of just straight to the out pair. So basically, I had to do actual work at work.

edit, nevermind, you just mean you have 3 reservations, not that you have 3 standing reservations for the same day.

How do you manage 3 standing reservations for the same day? Seems like you would have this problem every week...

Supposedly meeting Craigslister in an hour but he didn't firmly confirm... I'm heading out anyway so will stand around the meeting place, but not sure if I'll be stood up or not. FML, Craigslist must be the world's collector of flaky people.
