Yep, just with a 24 hour valet, dropoff dry cleaning service, room service, in-house restaurants and bars that I can charge to my place, etc.

KT

That sounds like a pretty sweet setup. How does the rent compare to a typical condo/apt in your area?

Price is about the same for the area from what I saw; I wanted to be really close to work and I am only about a 3 minute walk to the office.

No HOA for me since I am just renting. I did not know the city or job well enough to purchase anything, so I'm just trying this for now. It's honestly pretty sweet though and will be hard to give up if I decide to stay here.

I washed a bunch of old toys last week, finally bothered to put them in a box. A Jurassic Park raptor had some white powder on parts of it -- odd because I washed it with dish soap and rinsed 3 times. Hope it's not toxic? Great if it were cocaine.

Why would you give it up, even if you stay? Sounds like you hit the urban lottery. Three minute walk to work, and all the conveniences of being on vacation. I'm partial to country life, or at least trivial access to the country, but I gotta say, I'm a little jealous.

Toilets started backing up through the third floor bathroom floor drain. Poop smell was everywhere.

I'm trying to figure out a better way to setup my living room so I can put the couch directly in front of the 55" TV and keep the large bay window unobstructed so I can put the Christmas tree there but the fireplace is in the way.

It's a good question and one I have thought about. This works well for me now because I am currently just working a tonne, in a new city where I have no attachments. Removing any additional time costs is hugely beneficial right now. I did actually enjoy owning a piece of property, but I did a cost/benefit and renting makes the most sense for now. If I stay in the city for an extra year or two, I probably will stay where I am.

Honestly though, you have it right; I would ultimately just like to move somewhere quiet, away from it all. Just a few more years of saving. You Americans are lucky, the landscape diversity allows you to choose pretty much whatever climate you want to live in and set up shop. It is far less diverse up here so my options are a bit more limited.

Dude you are grumpy cat if you lived there, you'd be complaining.

One day when I have the money I'm gonna make a little mini theater and keep the TV out of the living room.

So I moved my newly created forum that I have been working on for a week to a new host which was a bitch. Got the database and directory installed, modified a file and set cookie permissions. Was doing some testing and all of a sudden my forum got redirected to a fucking web host adverting accounts. I filled out a support ticket and then the redirect went away only to come back. I'm thoroughly pissed because the website is hosted by the same server and this host says no ads for free accounts. So if this isn't fixed by tomorrow I will be forced to find yet again a new host. The reason why I moved hosts in the first place was because phpmail wasn't working and I inquired about it on their forums and no one responded so I said fuck it I'm moving to a new host. Now I have this redirect crap! Serenity now!

I got my new snow blower, but the weather outside is too crappy to actually go out and test it. I'd say a good 6 inches of snow probably melted already. Bring on the snow storms! I want to use this thing. :D

I bought almost $200 of food so my daughter can make Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm still not finished.
