Trying to take advantage of an offer to lower the rate on our current mortgage. Mobile/internet banking has an Achilles heel. We've been using online tools for so long we no longer have any paperwork with our mortgage account number on it. Somehow, our login got borked and we had to reset our account. Need the account number - duh. Call the online support number. 'Please say or enter your account number'. After walking thru the f&*()^king automated menu system for 15 minutes I was told I was being connected to a banker. "Please say or enter you account number'.. In frustration, I made up a number, which, ofc, the fembot didn't recognize and finally it/she/we/they/whatever said I was being connected to a banker and I actually was. I don't know how much time as gone by at this point, but I will be able to reset my password in 24hr by calling again (OMG). Apparently, the beatings will continue until morale improves.

PS Anyway to instantly lower my blood pressure? (aside from slitting my wrists)

Yeah it's crazy how even low quality fast food is expensive now days. And KFC specificly has gone downhill so much. I mean sure it was always seen as being garbage food but it's just so much worse now. Once in a while I'll decide to have some because it's been a while, and I don't even end up enjoying it and then I remember why I don't have it often. I'm no foodie, and I tend to enjoy fast food and processed crap, but KFC just sets the bar so low.

I don't normally get KFC but my friends wanted it so I made a run. I didn't look at the price at the drive through so it was kind of a shock when the total came out to a little over $29.

That's fracking inflation right there. I bought an 8 piece meal last year and it was like $20 after tax.

Fathers day BBQ. I have 20 people at my house ( not all family) . So there are like people in and out using the bathroom and stuff.

I'm on the grill foods almost done and I have to run in for another platter. On the way out of the house I notice my dog is covered in blood. I called my wife in and ran out and plated up food and went back to see what happened.

My dogs jaw is broken and his front teeth are broken out. I cant find a vet to see him and no one knows what happened. No local vet can see him. Even the emergency vets. The ones that can see me tomorrow are telling me that is gonna cost me more than my rent to fix it is it is a broken jaw.

Tomorrow I have to choose between paying my rent or paying 65 bucks to kill my little best friend.
That sucks. Hope everything works out acceptably well.

I blew out my savings. The surgery was supposed to cost between 6 and 8 thousand and they wouldn't touch him without having the money upfront. That was my car money. I have 65 bucks left in the bank now.

The vet called my wife. He is actually in surgery right now and the vet stopped to call the wife. I'm not totally clear on the whole thing but from what I gathered he had a few bad teeth that rotted the jaw and weakened it. Not enough for it to just break on its own though. Since it was broken that was going to have to come out. They wanted to let us know that he's is losing part of the jaw and he was probably going to look weird and his tongue might hang out. They asked if we wanted them to continue or put him to sleep...WTF?

I know some people think it's crazy to spend that on a dog. He's my little buddy. My little friend. During quarantine we drove each other crazy but he was the only one to hang out with 10 hours day while everyone was at work. He is dumb as a rock and doesn't know shit , but he's housetrained.

I got home today and he wasn't here to screech and bark and make me yell at him to hold on to let him out and it just felt strange,.

I think I can make my truck last another year.

Life is good.

You're a nicer doggy-daddy than me. I'd have had the vet put him down. Sucks, but that's the way it is in our house.

My wife runs a dog daycare and a rescue on the side. I wouldn't choose a dogs life over one of my children but I might over one of my one laws :p I grew up on a ranch where every animal had a purpose. If they couldn't fulfill that purpose they were put down or sold.

Over the years through my wife and children I've realized that animals are family members.

I get that. I like my dogs more than my kids...and neck & neck with my grandkids...but sadly, pets have a $ limit when it comes to medical care. Our 17 year old pom-chi has lost most of his teeth...and part of his jaw...he had what we believe was a stroke at Easter. Can't do stairs any more...so I carry him ip_down.
Our 15 year old chiwookie (chorkie) has also lost mosy of his teeth...and is starting to develop what we think are tumors on his body.
Neither one seems to be on pain...so they're still with us, but we know saying goodbye is close.

We're trying to buy a property and the sellers keeps ghosting us and their own realtor. Three times now they've said they were ready to sign the sale contract and then… nothing, radio silence for two to three weeks. We are patient but it's getting to be Charlie Brown and the football. They've never asked for more money or other changes to the contract; they just don't sign it. It's pissing me off. I'm trying to figure if they're drunk when they say they'll sign it or drunk the rest of the time.
The seller has since twice more said they want to sell but still no action. We sent them a "sell it or f' off" email this morning.

Ordered April 12. Still waiting. I think the Vikings settled down in Minnesota and they ain't delivering my package until they win a Super Bowl.
I contacted the seller about the non-delivery of my item. I think the translation might be iffy. Can any french speakers confirm?

What a cute bear!

there was actually 3 of them...the first two went through pretty fast...the second one slowed down to smell something in the yard...probably by dogs...so I was able to grab my fone for a quick pic.
We had a momma bear and two cubs winter before last...I suspect this is them...cubs getting grown up.

Did they pee in your yard?
Bears or dogs?

First beat came through...waited about 20 minutes to take the dogos out to shit...just in case it was still hanging around...took them outside...they smelled the interloper...started barking...then there was some loud crashing in the brush...grabbed them and took them inside...seconds after I closed the door, the other two came running through.

I asked a College teacher and French expert and will report back when I get the translation (unless someone beats me to it).
