Thankfully that's not TOO common here but yeah I hate when the snow does that. It makes it super hard to get off the car. I find we get more of that now than we used to. For a good part of this winter every time it snowed it was icy/crusty snow instead of just normal snow.

It looks kind of cool though, so there's that. :p

Not sure this is a first-world problem...maybe a third-world problem...

My wife took the little rat-dogs out to pee last night. Because it was dark and scary...she doesn't get off the back deck at night...so, I went out just in case there was poop to pick up. (<sigh> yes, my life has devolved to being a dog-shit-picker-upper)
Just as I stepped out the door, she screamed...I looked at the dogs in time to see a smaller coyote making his move on the dogs. (biggest one, 17 years old, weighs about 12 lbs, smallest one, almost 15 years old, weighs around 7 lbs) I jumped off the porch, yelling at the dogs and grabbed a couple of larger rocks and started chucking them at the coyote. I don't think I hit it...but it ran off...and stayed in the trees watching. (could see the eyes glowing in the beam of the flashlight)
They wuz almost scooby-snacks for the coyotes.
Someone posted on the local facebook page the other day that the coyotes are either breeding...or whelping right now...and they've been hella active in the neighborhoods.

Last time the wife and I traveled up to Beaupré there had been a massive ice storm the week b/4. All the young trees along the highway were bent down to the ground and the forest area adjoining the highway looked like some kind of crystal palace. We probably have a pic in somewhere from one of those old fashion CCD cameras (like, 15 years ago).

I have an old Corsair 800D (should be the 800T, for Tank). Anyways, the stupid face covers for the old optical bays have always been loose. I finally got sick of that when they all fell out went I took the front panel off a couple of days ago. I decided that I would super-glue them in place. After getting some super glue on my new jeans (genius) I had them solidly in place. I popped the front panel back on and two of them fell inward a bit making the front look stupid again. Argh! I don't think OCD is a first world problem...but anyway

Why don't you have a rifle.

Pellet gun.

I am disappoint.

I keep running out of ram on my machine then everything starts to be slow, even typing. Forces me to have to restart Firefox which is a pita if I have lot of stuff open. I caved and ordered a 16GB kit (2x8GB). Only have 1x 8GB right now. Did not really want to spend the money but my sanity will be better.

Only reason I even have such a paltry amount of ram is because this was originally my mining rig.

Bastard people I don't even know have peer pressured me into tossing $10 on the ground.

The supermarket totally screwed-up my home delivery yesterday - had to phone them to chase them about it, and they told me some rubbish about 'technical difficulties' stopping them from dispatching the order, so it arrived 5 hours late and then I found it was missing 2/3 of the items. Now have to phone them again and chase them about the fact so much was missing from the order. They clearly got it mixed up with someone else's hence I got a load of stuff I don't want (including bags of frozen peas! After I've been reduced to living mostly on tinned peas for several days already, the whole point of this order was to finally get something more appetizing than goddam peas!).

Got none of the fruit or yoghurt or pitta-bread I actually ordered. Daren't got to a shop for fear of COVID - it's increasing rapidly round here - so this is the only way I have to get food.

Almost bought a cabin in the woods off that stretch of road but my family talked me out of it. I regret it now just looking at those pics.

I never said I don't own a gun...but I don't carry one every second of every day. Those days are almost 50 years behind me.

I purchased several Powerball and Megamilions tickets on my own and I didn't win a single dollar (only had 1 single number correctly on one ticket). I have the same luck as Daingerfield.

If I buy a ticket...if I touch the ticket...if I even handle the money used to buy a ticket...it's gonna be a loser. :(

What is that funny little room in pic #3?

Haha the phone booth? Yeah I thought that was interesting too when I saw that. It's literally in the middle of nowhere. Theres a cell tower on that property though, so I think it's meant as a backup if the tower is down and a tech or even anyone needs to make a call.

One of my coworkers knows someone that actually sells old phone booths I sometimes think of buying one, it would be kind of a cool novelty. Could put it on my deck or something lol.

I still cannot find the wife any 12-pack/12-ounce cans of Fresca. Coke tried to kill it off early last year but enough people complained there was a reprieve early last December. But still no inventory and those amazing Amazon Partners want $25-40/12-pack for it. That's more expensive that beer!
