Check motor mount screws.

Oh that's loose as hell, the screws don't seem to go all the way in. I fixed that with some cardboard, foam, and duct tape though. Essentially just jacked the blower assembly against the top from the bottom so it's nice and snug. Been holding up for years! I think this problem is somewhere more in the ductwork. I need to try to pin point it some time. The new noise might be something with the blower though... did not really take the time to investigate that one further as it's not consistent enough.

The blower squirrel cage fan might be due for some cleaning and balancing too. Just need to take the time to do it.

The IT at the head office of my company is always screwing around with stuff, they can't leave stuff alone. Recently they did this thing where when you come back from a fresh reboot, your account is locked out for about an hour. No reason, it just is. Have to wait before you can login to most things.

Another thing they did is messed with Outlook. Again. No idea WTF they do but they're always breaking stuff. My profile got all screwed up and I lost all my favourites and stuff. Then suddently everything just stopped loading. No error or anything. Decided to restart it, and now the window is opening on a non existent screen. Freaking hate when that happens. The only way to really fix that is to mess with all the monitor orientations until you "catch" the window. This causes everything to shuffle around and screw up every time you hit apply. Sure as hell don't feel like dealing with that at this time. Hopefully I don't get important emails.

Looks like I can access it if I set the shortcut properties to "maximize" but that's the only way. If I try to restore it just goes back to the invisible area. Windows is retarded for even letting this happen, there should be some kind of boundary system that makes sure windows are always on a visible part of the screen.

LOL, wtf? Locked out for an hour after a reboot? That's a load of feces.

It's funny, my work rig is so full of software and lacking in RAM and SSD (actually it does have one of those hybrid IDE-SSD drives) that it takes about 20 minutes to restart, maybe 25, from the time I click Restart to the time I can hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and enter my login credentials.

Oh, I forgot the reason I decided to post. Started the week off nicely by getting like 3.75 hours of sleep. Goddamn idiot.

Have you tried reinstalling Adobe Reader?

I'm not even joking this time. Reports are coming in that Adobe's authenticity/license checking program that silently loads at startup is royally borking Outlook/Office 365 on Win 10, causing long load times.

Yeah our corporate network is retarded. The more changes they make the more messed up it gets.

About a year ago they did some kind of migration, no idea WTF they keep doing, but ever since this change, it takes several days for your password to sync everywhere when you change it. If it's about to expire you really have to time it so that when you change it, it's at the end of your shift, and you'll be off for several days. If not you'll get locked out of practically everything. Outlook is the worst one, they keep migrating it, it's like been 3 times now, no idea what exactly these migrations are, but it gets more and more sluggish each time. it also will keep prompting for your password at random if you changed it recently (can be as long as a week after even). I've managed AD networks, never seen anything like this... no idea WTF my company is doing. Probably has to do with the fact that all the servers are in Atlantic region now... centralizing stuff to the point that it's in another province is retarded.

As I type this half my stuff is timing out, because that's just what it does. By the time you get back into one thing, another thing dies. So freaking annoying. Spend more time dealing with this shitty setup than actually doing my job. I've found that when something times out I'm best to wait like an hour before trying to get back in.

Oh that's another thing, there is this other weird issue that has been going on for about a year now where you randomly lose connectivity to certain apps. Can't ping or anything. It will only happen to one person at a time, but it happens to everyone. It's random each time too. Latetly it's been happening a lot after a fresh reboot. Basically can't connect to half your shit for about an hour then it starts to work. this is never going to get fixed, because as far as network/server guys are concerned it's a desktop issue because it's not everyone that loses connection at once. But since it happens to everyone it's clearly more than "something with your computer". That's the issue when you have too much siloing though, everyone just passes the buck and nothing gets fixed.

They seriously need to do a full revamp of this corporate network from ground up, it's such a huge mess.

Haha we have this super old version of Acrobat, aparantly if we try to update it, it will break a ton of stuff, so nobody dares to touch it. Same with Java, lot of stuff that relies on very old versions, so can't touch it. Remember the big fiasco with the healthcare.gov site? Well that company is responsible for our applications and network.

I've been having a similar problem when my password expires (every 30 days, sigh) and I have to change it. It happens even when I go over to IT and just ask them to reset my password so I can type in the same one I had. One of my logins (I have a total of four, two on two different domains) keeps locking me out; it seems to be because I'm logged into some server, or using some folder share, and when my password is changed or reset it causes this lockout issue. Thankfully I don't need to use the particular login a whole lot (it's an Admin-type login), but jeez when I do I'm asking IT to unlock my goddamn account like 5 times a day. Frickin annoying.

The issue finally resolved itself after like a month of this BS and it stopped locking, and then what do ya know, it's time for my password to expire again. Repeat locking. fml

There's this one program we have that we don't really use often, but for whatever reason it requires authenticating on the old domain that is for some reason still active. The problem is they still force passwords to expire on that domain and there is no way to actually change it because all the windows boxes are on the new domain. So every time it expires (which is very often, like 2 weeks) we have to call help desk. I gave up with that one. That app is not that important and we can sorta do without it. It's to lookup circuit numbers and we're only the after hours help desk for that and don't do it full time. I just get the full info from the customer and make the ticket that way. If they absolutely want me to get the info from that app then they should fix their stupid setup.

FML. Truck wont start, not even with a boost. Probably the starter or a fuse or something. Too dark and cold to try to figure that out and I need to go to bed for my next shift. Need to wait till 8am so I can arrange towing and call garage. I hope they can work on it today. I really did not need this expense. :/ I'm already in the hole from buying this. I'm starting to wonder if I should have just gone with a basic car. 14k is a lot of money and as nice as a truck is I'm already having buyers remorse especially now that I'm already dealing with repairs. Guess that's what I get for buying a Ford.

Shit happens, and it could have happened to anything you got. I've had pretty good luck with Ford trucks over the years. Don't sweat it :^)

Yeah was joking about the Ford part. They always get lot of flack. :p But really they can all have issues.

It's at the shop now, they'll look at it Tuesday so I'll be without a vehicle for a while.

My bro is a diehard ford guy. He had a sticker on his work truck (late 90's) that said, "Hungry, out of work? Eat your import." He's the guy that would argue how high the fence posts are on the interstate until we stopped to measure. When the subject came up, I'd happily remind him how many fords he has had during my 1 honda ownership period. He'd just shake his head. Pretty sure he was silently cussing ford engineers.

I think I waited too late in the year to detail my car for the winter. It has been pelting snow for the last 8 hrs and the weather won't get out of the 40s for the next week or so.

I stopped to gas up. It was one of those annoying pumps w/ the TV display blaring ads and happyhead stupidity. Usually, if one punches the buttons, one can find a mute button even it it isn't marked. No go on this pump. I won't be using that station again.
