The wife, bless her heart, donates to a lot of charities (like 30) so I get to wait for them to send statements...if they do at all. If they don't, one of us gets to go through a year of bank statements.

My credit union lets me download an excel file. Makes searching/filtering pretty easy.
 
i'm trying to think of someone's old sig around here about german engineering being making what should be a simple solution overly complex. and i can't remember it.
 
I just reported my company's IT department for sending spam. While accurate, it probably wasn't the best move I could make. I was trying to delete the spam unread but inadvertently clicked the "Report Spam" button instead.
 
My work laptop that's docked and on AC power goes to sleep at random intervals. Sometimes less than 3 minutes, sometimes it doesn't happen at all. Windows powercfg doesn't show the events. Every time it happens I have to authenticate with the VPN again.
 
I wanted to order a case of a particular (inexpensive, tasty, and increasingly hard-to-find) wine, but the store only had 11 bottles in inventory.

I ordered them, at 11PM, for pickup the next day.

Got an email at 5AM saying the order was ready, even though the store doesn't even open until 9AM and nobody is on staff.

Picked up at 9:00PM. Didn't get an email saying the order was picked up until 11AM the next day.

I think the computers are haunted.

Not really a problem. Just an update since this is where I posted. Kitty's feeling better. She probably isn't actually better, but she's perked up. I'm zeroing in on the wet food flavors/textures she likes, and she's eating better. I also get greeted at the door again.

Giving her the supplements is getting harder. She clamps her mouth down tighter, and she's improving her avoidance routine :^D She sounds especially sorrowful when I snatch her up for pill time, and she especially hates the liquid vitamins I squirt in her mouth. She acts like I shot chili sauce in her mouth :^D The reward is she gets a fresh can of food after medications. I guess that takes some of the sting out of the routine.
 
The realization I just need a decent woman to lay with but apparently if you're not a thot reading snitch you're not good enough, I've done everything I can to find a woman who isn't a political shill and found nothing. I am not a thot snitch, therefore I don't deserve to deal with their bullsh*tnor do I want a woman who puts them before me. I am trapped in a life that only allows me prostitution for sexual release which I'm not willing to accept, it's a horrible horrible horrible situation I am in.

So, am looking for a woman to free me from this tyranny and sexual oppression.

What, pray tell, is a "thot reading snitch"? Otherwise, your post is an A420 period piece.
 
My ears hurt. Apparently I should use ear protection to use a dremel multi tool. The piece you're working on (a 5U case in this situation) amplifies the sound quite a lot. This case would also make a pretty epic triple subwoofer box... Well maybe not with all the holes I just finish putting into it. 😛
 
Well that sucks. Since the water was brown and I used hot water I decided it would be a good time to flush the tank given I've never done it.

Now I can't get the pilot to relight I think the piezo electric starter is pooched. It's a rental which means I have to call the rental company and it's over 10 years old so they're probably going to want to replace the whole tank which means I'll be several days without hot water because it's the weekend. Ugh. Should have left it alone.

I might try to light it manually but have to take a whole assembly apart and there's a huge warning on it about not doing that.
 
Yeah I think it's silly, that's why I don't want them to replace it, because I eventually want to go tankless and just buy it. If they replace it I imagine canceling the contract will be that much more expensive. Last I checked it was over $900 to cancel the contract. That's more than the price of the tank when it was new.

Going to go play with it again later, just waiting for gas to clear. All my windows are frozen so I can't open them.

I really should have just left it be ugh.
 
Yay this time it worked. I don't know what I did different, maybe the pilot selection knob is very touchy as to where you have to put it and maybe it was not quite on pilot. Well I'm glad I didn't have to do a service call, or take it apart.

Managed to get a basement window to open. Starting to get a little buzzed here.
 
The brown water stopped after a while, but it actually took quite a bit for it to clear. Let the water run and went to snow blow the driveway and do a couple things in the garage and it was still not clear after. But now it's clear.

But yeah that was a bad idea to play with the water heater... glad I got it going anyway. The burner chamber looks pretty terrible though, lot of rust and orange flames. Orange = inefficient combustion. So ya I should start saving up for a tankless since that's my eventual goal. Some of them can also accept a radiator loop for heating, so I would use it to heat the garage once I insulate it. Cheaper than running a gas line and putting a heater in there, and more efficient long term.

There was this company called Polaris I think where you run your hot water tank like a boiler and then use that hot water for house heating through a rad and a blower.
