I left my iPhone at work yesterday and didn't care enough to go back to get it. Came back to a lot of emails cluttering up the screen and 2 missed calls :(

The free wifi in the bus i took to work didn't work, so I had to wait 10 minutes to check the news.

You are SO much more advanced than us.

Last time I rode the bus people had dumped McDonalds all over the floor and the windows were covered in a substance I can only hope was dirt.

tbh i resent this wave of "ooh fwp, plx no complain" as some of us who live in the first world actually do have problems.

Yet you can make it on the internet and post a reply to the thread. Perhaps you should use that time to fix your credit?

EDIT:

It's not that the first world doesn't have problems, it's that by comparison we have much less to complain about. Try telling your story to people who never even had a home.

You, my friend, have a real problem, and I hope things get better.

First world problems aren't really problems.

First world problems aren't really problems.

I used to feel that way, but a penguin meme actually changed my mind (can't find it at the moment). But it said something along the lines of "just because your problem is worse, doesn't mean my problem isn't valid". Like if you're sitting in traffic...at least you're in a nice, air-conditioned car, listening to music, sipping on a drive-through drink, living in America instead of in the middle of the African desert having to walk 10 miles a day to get water, you know? But still: you're stuck in traffic, and that is a valid & annoying problem. Sure, some of them are silly, but problems are still problems. But to some extent, perspective does help out. This is a great video to watch:

Actually this reminds me of a guy I used to work with. Mid-level manager, so he got a budget for hardware. Wanted an ergonomic handset. Not good enough, had to get him a wireless headpiece. Ergo chair. Ergo mouse. Ergo mouse wasn't big enough, got a different ergo mouse. Ergo keyboard. Then dual screens. Not big enough. Needed to do some basic CAD. Got him a pair of 28" LCD monitors. Complained they were too big & were hurting his neck from having to look side-to-side, but refused to downgrade due to the size. That was the most first-world, slap-in-the-face problem I'd ever seen. "My dual jumbo monitors are so big that my neck hurts turning my head side-to-side all day!"

Le sigh.

I had a bunch of food at home, but wasn't in the mood for any of it & didn't feel like cooking. But I didn't have enough energy to go & buy pre-made food from a restaurant. So I went to bed early instead

I ordered from Pizza hut at 8 with a 30 minute eta and had them charge my card. I called back an hour later to ask if the delivery boy got lost and they said "just wait a couple more minutes, it's almost there". An hour after that I called at 10 being FUCK where's my pizza?! And the guy was like "Oh let me check our system, sorry, you never ordered from us. You probably got confused and ordered from another Hut." and I was like, dude. There's only ONE pizza hut stored in my phone that I use to auto dial. I could not POSSIBLY have called another one. He still insisted I must have called somewhere else. Doubling down to the very end the mistake was all mine.

Well, I check my bank account and sure enough they charged my card but never delivered the goods. I called back and they say they're closed, but I tell them to dig deeper in their system because they charged my card. They find it and say for some reason it didn't get a ticket. I ask about a refund and they tell me "these things happen" and they'll look into it tomorrow at some point and call me back. 5pm rolls around the next day and still no response. I call them and the first thing the manager says is that they will offer to convert the charge into store credit for my next purchase. The presumptuousness. :\

I asked for a full refund and he said the only way they're giving one of those out is if I drive all the way out there and fill out a form. I did and the manager finally said sorry. That was it. I walked out pretty peeved. And after all of that it was too late the night before to order from anywhere else, on account of the fact I was waiting for a pizza I paid for that I was reassured was just around the corner never arriving. I had to bake a Red Barons pizza from the freezer instead. At 11 oclock at night. Fuck you, Pizza hut. I'm never ordering from your grating and incompetent staff ever again.

Neither... Both get crap gas mileage. Maybe look at an ES300H. Your biggest cost of ownership for those vehicles beside depreciation is fuel costs.

I left my phone at home. Strangely enough, I was at work for 3 hours before I actually noticed it was missing...

Having had 2 Kia cars so far (both built after 2010, so the "newer" quality instead of the older fall-apart stuff), I would personally opt for the Kia. You're getting a lot of bang for your buck & the Kia will probably be more reliable than the Lexus (and cheaper to fix) long-term. The pricetag is crazy for something with a Kia logo on it, but if you can get past the brand vs. price thing, I think it's a pretty amazing car.

Plus, you know, Morpheus singing opera

My casino rep from MGM properties just called me back. She told me I had the room I wanted for this weekend comp'd , and was sorry that it took her a while to get back to me.

Well I needed to get the room situated, and had already booked my free suite at one of the Caesar's properties, where I also like to play a little.

Now I have to decide which one to keep and which one to cancel :(

Is it sad that this just happened and the first thing I thought of was coming to ATOT to post it in this thread? :p

Kia more reliable than Toyota? Ehhh......

What is the projected value retention % on a Kia after 3 years and 36,000 miles, vs a Lexus?

I had too much food to choose from for breakfast and lunch, so I wound up having two meals that were almost entirely carb-based. I'm having more carbs for dinner in the form of grilled cheese.

UGGH...carbs kill me

If I eat something with a ton of carbs, I'm sure to drag ass all day.
