What first world problem did you have today?

Fell off the roof of the office today. Was cleaning the gutters, and had one left to do. It was under a pine tree, and there was a shitton of needles on the roof. I eased down, and started to kick needles off the roof. I got a little too far down, and lost traction on the needles. I stabilized myself, decided it was a bad idea, and tried getting back up on the roof. That got me sliding again, and I couldn't recover. It was slow enough that I had a second to decide which deadish tree branch would hold 220#, and grabbed it as I went over the edge. I picked a good one. I ended up dangling over a pile of junk, let go, and dropped more or less safely on the ground.

The lip of the roof was only eight or nine feet off the ground, but I scraped myself up pretty good. Worst part is I thought the whole thing was a bad idea, but went anyway. I knew the needles would be a roof full of needle bearings, but ignored my better judgment :^S
I wouldn't really call that a first world problem. It was an accident.

A fwp is trivial whining. A real problem is ISIS fucktards just invaded my village, and killed my son, or I just found out I have cancer. I use this and the nef thread as a catchall for writing bullshit not worthy of its own thread.

FWP is like getting your fast food order wrong, or bumper to bumper traffic on the way to work, not almost getting seriously injured. I'm arguing semantics, but I'm glad you're okay.

What I need is a stepladder, and get it from the ground, but it's a pita hunting stuff down around the farm, and moving it.
Step ladders aren't all that safe either, especially when you start reaching out to the side rather than electing to move the ladder or when you have uneven ground and the ladder doesn't have stabilizers or you haven't set them properly. You really need a partner to do these things safely.

I would recommend that you get some gutter filters like these - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Gutter-P...e-Gutter-Guard-8-Box-5K-Foam-Wedge/205328956?

and some aluminum gutter strainers like these - https://www.guttersupply.com/m-alum....gstml?gdffi=a714fb1ba27744d7be34e355fd4cf316

The foam wedges should physically block debris and still let water pass and the strainers will keep the downspouts open even if you still get some buildup.

Ouch got lucky there lol. I sometimes think to myself when I'm on my roof that it would suck to fall off, especially the secondary one, as it would almost be like falling off a two story house. No trees would be around to slow my fall. Unless I fall on the side where the hedges are, but I'd probably just get impaled.

Which reminds me I still need to find a day to go on my roof so I can clean the gutters before the gunk freezes over. Also need to try to figure out once and for all how mice keep getting in the attic. There must be a crack somewhere at a vent or something.

Looks like the latest Chrome auto-update decided to blow up the font sizes and treat me like I'm blind. The default 100% zoom looks like 150% now, I have to zoom out to 75% to get what I had for the pasts couple years. Why would you fuck with this? I really hope it's just a bug.

Edit: Fuck off. It's a "feature" and it's purposely larger than Window's UI. Favorites bar is still huge but setting the zoom in my settings lower has helped.

And then I remember that these are the people who brought you Google Glass and Google Plus.

I opened Firefox from a windows VM and forgot how freaking ugly Firefox looks in Windows, who the hell decided it was smart to shove the menu in the title bar and then make the title bar double size and shove the tabs in it too? And with all that remove the title lol. The GUI looks like it was made by a 2 year old with a brain tumor. I tried to install Classic Theme restorer but since FF updates to a major version every freaking week they did not recode the addon for that version yet.
I hate any UI that prevents me from having the standard right-click options for a Windows title bar.

FF doesnt let me right-click the title and press N to minimize, C to close, X to maximize, etc. It's annoying as hell.

Flip the channels and see people in Cleveland are wearing hoodies and jackets while I am in my room with the ceiling fan on and the side window up. This week is in the upper 80s for the high. At least no need for the AC so this month electricity bill will be reasonable.

I slept like 10 hours last night to make up for the week of no sleep because it was too damn cold -- only turned the heat on this morning.

I really want to make an espresso, but that requires a finer grind. I don't feel like cleaning the grinder to get out the coarser stuff in order to make a nice espresso. I wish I had a wife to do all this shit for me. Oh wait, no I don't.

I'm under the impression that the shilling industry has expanded so much and so quickly that the quality of shillers has dropped. Becoming easier to spot...

Bought a huge bag of Halloween candy early so I wouldn't have to buy it at inflated prices (regular bags go for $15 the day of Halloween, 4x the price of normal). Same as last year, it is slowly disappearing lol...

I got a box of these for halloween...

For some reason my Raspberry Pi 2 won't do 1080p even though my RPI1 did it fine, so I had to watch TWD on the computer instead. The video was not even that great a quality, so really should have just got the 720p one instead anyway.

My huge living room is too huge and putting a couch in the middle to accommodate a proper HDTV viewing distance makes the room too ugly.

I don't know what to do.

I wanted to get my daughter this cup for jul...

I also wanted to get her the coloring book Penis Fairies and Queef Storms, and was waiting til it was released to get them both at the same time. The book's in, but the cup's sold out :^S
