This sprung another FWP. My speakers are not connected to the UPS so not getting sound on videos. I don't see a way to make that happen without completely redoing all the wiring under my desk. It's a dog's breakfast in there.

Suppose I should shut down my PC to save on battery anyway. Power suppose to come back by 12:30 but I have a feeling it will be later. A bit tree fell on lines according to a FB post so that's going to be a job and a half to do in this weather.

Tempting to go out for a walk to check out damage but walking in this storm is not my idea of fun. I will stay in. 😛

The wind was crazy last night. It woke me up around 3a.m., and there was a huge gust that sounded like either part of a tree hit my house, a piece of my siding got ripped off, or something in the framing cracked. I'll find out when I get home from work and there's light outside.

Not sure if this is a FWP or a triumph, but I brought my work gear home yesterday, and have to charge a battery. I don't have a reliable wall charger here, so I had to haul my big ass solar panel outside to charge it. That's working great! Took awhile to find the right adapter. I need a solar gear bag that's easy find and carry. I'll have to look around the house and see what I have.

Sold some trading cards Sunday evening and boxed them all up and labelled them. Dropped them off at the post office on Monday morning. Only one is still in "pre shipment info" status. Rest have all left the main hub in Fresno bound for their destinations.

I'm pretty sure I printed and affixed a dupe shipping label on the affected box. Damnit. Least it was only a $20 card.

Team breaks code, I told them to revert to Monday and they tell me it is not easy to revert just one portion of code.

Oh and UAT is right now.

"Working as designed."
Fucking people don't understand code freeze
This demo was pushed back for a quarter already.

Oh I have a meeting with the delivery manager and he was the one doing demo with the client business unit. Wonder if he will be pissed.

Just confirmed the dupe label theory. same tracking number info below. Note the Departed statuses from Fresno yesterday and another one today. Shit.

Dropped my wallet at the store the other night, realized I didn't have it when I was just five minutes away walking, so ran back with the dog. Nothing. Owner pulled up the camera footage and the lady who came to the register like 10 seconds after I did just scooped it up and took it. I had maybe like twenty bucks in there, the pain in the ass are the ID stuff, work magnet key. Locked my cards on the apps right away so they didn't get anything from those.

Do you work for CGI by chance, it feels like the sort of thing that would be the norm there. They will also charge the client extra to fix their own errors. 😛

I normally wear daily contacts and had an eye exam recently. I decided it was time for some new glasses that I could use to give my eyes a break from contacts every once in awhile. My problem with contacts is that I can't read up close w/o reading glasses, so this time, I elected to get bifocals. I was instructed to wear them for a few days and holy crap these things are hard to get used to. While they work extremely well for up close reading, I'm having a hard time adjusting to where I need to focus between distances, so I'm getting kinda nauseas.

I went off-trail hiking when I first got my progressive bifocals. That was a mistake.

Err this happens everywhere. And no I would never work for CGI. I dealt with them before. It's like wow you charge people money for this?

Eye doctor wanted to give me bifocals. Thing is, I can see close fine without glasses. The "bifocals" would be a dead spot that does nothing. I also don't like the idea of working at heights with variable eyeware. I can work with what I have, and wherever I look through the glasses, I get predictable results. If I need to see close, I look over the tops of my glasses, or just take them off for extended use.

Have you bought a voodoo doll of her yet for curses?

Seriously. I got my new Alpaka Ark Wallet today, then went to my bank to get two new debit cards - except they stopped printing them at the branches not that long ago. wtf these C-suite assholes being cheap fucks. And then she said the card can take a week or two. WTF you bastards.

I loaded up a debit card on Google Pay of course, and will pay bills with direct bank transfers. I don't even think I could order many things online as not everyone takes Google Pay. Probably a good thing lol

Duplicate license, health insurance card, all requested or ordered. Other than that, it's a Costco card when I go next, as well as the key cards for our offices. Bitch just take the money, leave the rest.

The resident wildlife is getting pretty demanding. We had an agave stalk laying on a bench last year and a carpenter bee moved in. After the young hatched we got rid of the stalk. A couple days ago a carpenter bee was buzzing around the bench, looking for the stalk. We put a new stalk on the bench and the bee moved right in.

The new VPN at work seems to drop out every single time now. Within around 2 hours of first connection it will drop and I won't be able to connect. Corporate support has been useless, they just tell me my name is not in their list so they can't help me then they give me a number to call. It's always a different number. Today that number went to my coworker lmao. The other one went to my boss.

After a while it starts working on it's own again, then I'm good for the day. But every single shift this happens.

I accidentally blew up one side of my bench power supply. Had a brain fart and accidentally fed 48v into it. Was charging a 48v battery pack but the psu only goes up to 32v so had it set to 27v and was doing one side of the pack at once. While moving the leads over to other side I had a brain fart and did only one lead at a time so in the process I ended up feeding the full battery pack into into it. There was lots of sparks and smoke and now it smells bad.

Going to look at it another time, hopefully I blew something simple like a mosfet or something and I can just replace it. That was a lot of sparks though... 😱 Whoops.

Finally got around to looking at it. All I had to change was a 150 ohm resistor and a 7 amp fuse and it works again. Got lucky honestly, I was expecting it to still not work.

A new FWP has come upon me though, I seem to have lost my good side cutters. I always leave them at my electronics bench and they're not there. I had done a quick cleanup in order to be able to work on this PSU so must have lost them in that. 90% of the time when that happens I never see it again, so guess I need to buy another pair. I needed those too as I have a bunch of boards to solder and need them to cut the ends of components out.

I got 10 sticks of Kerrygold cinnamon sugar butter from groceryoutlet last week; 2@98¢. I was pretty happy with that deal. This week they were 4@98¢. If I knew they were gonna do that, I'd have waited :^S

It's "expired" now, but it's butter. It'll last a long time. I just don't need that much cinnamon butter.
