I burned my mouth on melted cheese. I had tomato soup, and toasted Italian bread with 'everything' seasoning on the crust, and comté cheese on top. The cheese "expired" in 2021. It looked a little weird, but tasted ok. I'm not really familiar with comté, but mine was *very* earthy, and fairly pungent, but the flavor was ok. I should've waited a little longer to eat it though. I have peeling skin in my mouth :^(

The only thing about expired stuff is, the fatty acids may have become toxic. And that could hurt the liver.

Though I have myself eaten 3 year old expired dark chocolate Lindt bar.

Just the other day I found out that I had some barley and coffee mixture packets expiring in October. Also had some green tea bags with cinnamon close to expiring. Started using them daily. On the third or fourth day, I had some intense itching in different parts of my body. Usually a sign that toxic bile acids are circulating in the blood which if I remember correctly is related to liver damage. So stopped taking those for a while. I will start again in a few days but use them one at a time, to see which one is causing that particular symptom.

edit:
New cable also seems to be charging fast. I wonder if a new linux kernel has caused that? I might have to dig into the system, and see if there's a way to limit power to the ports. Ideal situation would be limiting power to a single port, but I don't think it can be that fine grained.
I think I was mistaken. My new cable that allows transfer is charging slow the way I want it to. I wonder what the difference is? Broken cable that won't transfer charges fast, new cable slow, both on the same front usb port on the computer. Could the transfer pins be taking up power, even when not transferring? Even if they did, I wouldn't think it would be significant enough to notice. No idea about this stuff though.

A follow up to my Facebook saga. I am legit surprised but I just got my Facebook account back. I was not expecting it to happen. Read lot of stories of this happening to lot of people and they either never got it back or only got it back after many months. I was poking around in the few options I still could access and there was one for if you suspect your account got hacked, so I went through those options just to see what happens. I don't know if this somehow bypassed the suspension process or what but it got me my account back. Maybe that's really what happened, maybe it got hacked. Changed the password.

Probably going to avoid spending too much time on it, I still feel like me clicking through too much stuff too fast may have triggered some security thing. Been following an event so was going through lot of posts in a group and watching live streams etc so had lot of tabs opened that I was bouncing between.

As much as I was ready to just accept my fate NGL I'm kinda relieved. It's more or less the one place where all my family, friends, coworkers, past classmates etc are on and it's a good way to keep in touch and share stuff.

I just posted some positive stuff about Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney so hopefully that buys me some extra social credit points lol.

Meant to post this Tuesday and forgot. I "lost" my sunglasses when in the hospital for eye surgery Monday afternoon.

They apparently grew legs and decided to go home with someone else. Fuckers. Those were $250 Ti Oakleys. FWPs.

Better than finding them IN you.

The key is quality posting. If one sticks with high standards, post count follows naturally.

Today was garbage day, so I take out the garbage, recycle, green bin (organic), Leaf bin out to the curb. Come home after lunch and I see the garbage, recycle and organic waste was picked up but my green bin is no where to be found. Look around the cul-de-sac and I don't see my bin. So I figured I need to buy a new one.

Open the garage to put the recycle bin back and my green bin is in the garage, with a whole week of organic waste...

I will need to do DMS10 training, that I was hoping I wouldn't need to do. It's a fairly dry training that goes beyond what we even deal with so it's mostly a waste. The training application reminds me of a 90's DOS game. Basically same type of graphics lol. Need a XP VM to run it.

I can't drink coffee anymore on account of villainy, and I found an old bag in my cupboard. I decided to try and extract the caffeine out of it. The first step is brewing some with washing soda and letting it steep for a long time.

First of all, the smell is evil - the soda makes it smell like death.
Second of all, the mixture has so many fine particles in it that everything instantly clogs when I try to filter it.

Should still be fun though.

My eye itches but I can't scratch/touch/rub it. fffffffffffff

At least it means it's healing. Doc said at 2nd post-op this a.m. that everything looks great. I can give my neck and back a break on Tuesday (have to remain face down and eye directly at the floor to keep the nitrogen bubble against the back of the eye).

I love working Saturdays because my "helper" isnt there. Most people arent there. Nice and quiet. My helper told me today he was approved to come in tomorrow to make up hours.

I appreciate the low key setup, but fuck working weekends. I'd rather everyone just stay home on weekdays, and let me get stuff done in peace :^D
