What features would you like to see in the next version of Trillian

Rumor has it that a huge new release for Trillian should be comming out soon.... beta testers have been going all summer long.

So I'm just curious what features you'd like to see added to the already great Trillian program... or if you don't use Trillian, what would make you turn to the dark side


I for one would like to see better support for font and color of text when chatting, better profile support in AIM, and make it to where when you are away the messages will minimize to the system tray but when you are back they won't.

Just some small picky things

The only real problem I can think of is AIM profiles don't format correctly. Other than that everything has been peachy.

Yup! HTML support for AIM profiles and I'm happier than a pig in sh!t.

I'd like to be able to drag & drop from the chat windows (i.e. draging a URL from IE into Trillian or draging text typed by someone else into a Word doc).

Even without drag & drop there's no way I would go back to using any other client.

The only problem is you can't view the links and such but other people can read it if you post it in HTML

Which is where the problem is.

As for fading, if you mean transparency, Trillian can already do that.

Trillian already does that.

Right click on a window and go to Advanced Options, then Transparency.

it exists, at least the logging part, it logs into text files.

ummm there isn't a hotkey, but just click on the options button in the message window you want and you can switch it on and off at your liking

I noticed in your rig profiles that you are using Win2K one one machine and WinXP Home on the other. If you have your HDDs formatted using NTFS you could store your logs in a specific folder and encrypt it. That way only you (when you are logged in as you) could read them. Just an idea...

BETTER PROFILE SUPPORT FOR aim PROFILES. html support would be good also. also teh ability to highlighttext in teh chat windows. for me anyway it dosent stay highlighted. when i try and copy and paste stuff. better file transfer support for some reason transfering using AIM goes a lot faster the when using trillian

 

Well, I realize that Trillian fills a niche market and does it quite well, I might add, but I was hoping for a somewhat faster load time. On my P4 2.0GHz, it takes 5-6 seconds, whereas AIM would take about 2. I'm not complaining, but if they could streamline the load time, that would REALLY make me happy .

aim profiles would be nice but you can already highlight stuff in chat

once you let go of the mouse it is already in your clipboard

i guess u never used IRC before because it does the same thing
