What feature on a car would stop you from buying it?

In all honesty I will never buy a car with an auto transmission. Too bad, because that eliminates some nice cars.

No manual = NO BUY.

There is an easy way to fix the stereo issues (volume adjust, etc)... buy an aftermarket stereo.

I probably wouldn't buy a car that was designed to prevent me from replacing the factory stereo.

What's wrong with the gas cap on the passenger's side?

He would have to walk around to fill the car. I'm guessing he lives somewhere cold otherwise there is no valid reason to care either way.

Personally, I hate vehicles with the gas cap on the driver's side because that means the exhaust is generally exiting the vehicle on the passenger's side so the noxious shit that vehicles spew is aimed right at me when I'm riding my bike.

coupes with rear seats and inadequate ceiling height.

Also those cars that try to figure out your driving habits (CVT i think). Annoying.

has an auto tranny;
has 4 doors;
has onboard nav;
has a spoiler;
has the gas cap BEHIND THE LICENSE PLATE.

I guess that's about it... i'm indifferent to power windows/mirrors/door locks/etc and other typical features.

🙁

I miss my last car that had a gas cap behind the license plate. It was a '68 Chevy Caprice and it was totally cool cruising down the highway in that huge boat. Sadly, it somehow caught fire and was a total loss.

I own one now, but if I had a choice I would not buy another car with "drive by wire" steering. It's just so unnatural and the thought of that computer or pump crapping out at highway speeds just scares the hell out of me.

I wouldn't buy a 2 door or a car that doesn't have power doors and windows and keyless entry.

Or poor MPG.

Any sort of automatic adjustments to anything on the stereo. My mom's Passat quiets the sound when you slow down, and it gets louder the faster you go.

My mom's Camry (07) has that; it's an option you can turn off. On the Camry stock stereo I believe it's called ASL (automatic sound limiter?).

Um, I have an 07 Camry and it had the ASL but it never shut down the stereo over 85, 95 either for that matter... Course, now I've got an Avic-Z2 so oh well..

Was it the Mazda RX that had the Roto engine? I read a few places that it was only reliable for about 75-80000 miles. Not sure if that's true or not, but it's enough to make me say forget it. Poor value is about the only feature I can say would kill the deal for me.

Well, that and hot pink fuzzy seats. 🙂

i live in a cold climate and all my cars have been passenger side wonders, lol

it's better, because your opening your door away from the gas pump island so you can open the door all the way and not risk dinging

i would not buy a car that does not have working missile launchers. or lasers. definitely need lasers

RX7 had a lot of issues with their rotary engines,
But the RX8 is vasty improved in terms of reliability. The lack of the twin turbos on the RX8 certainly helps with that too.

Unfortunately, it is underpowered and prone to excessive oil consumption.
