Our HP Laserjet 3150 crapped out today after 13 months...one FREAKING month out of warranty :| grrrrrr....

You can still print to it and receive faxes to it, you just can't send faxes which sort of kills the point of a fax machine. It's going to cost $300 to fix, which also happens to be 2/3's of what I paid for it.

Needless to say, I told HP no thanks on the repair, I'll buy new. So, I've got up to $1000 to spend on a high quality, high capacity fax machine. Needs to have at least 200 page paper tray and needs to be a laser.

Any suggestions? I've looked at brother, HP, and panasonic.

Any of them that start to give me problems. :D

You should just be able to go to a store that supplies offices with theses commercial grade machines for businesses and look there.

I've had good experiences with a $150 brother fax machine. Staples, officemax and other places sell it. I forget the model number. It is EXTREMELY reliable, the staples I worked at used it and it was great.

I'd recommend brother from my experiences.

Did you not like the HP 3150? I have the 3100 i think, probably the best fax machine i have ever used. It holds like 150 pages in memory if you run out of paper, and is pretty fast.

The biggest problem with the 3150 is that it didn't have a big enough paper tray. It only holds something like 100 pages. On weekends it will use up all of the paper and then eventually run out of memory, and then loose all faxes after that. Not good :(

We need something a little beefier than the 3150.

I have the HP3100.. and its soild.. but i had a probelm sending faxes too.. the damn thing wouldnt take the paper in.. right.. also it would chew up paper when printing.. so finally one day I opened her up and cleaned the parts by compressed air and by hand and it works great now..

are you sure you dont have memory recive.. the 3150 is the next model.. and i beleive its got memory receive...

I love my HP3100 now.. I asked HP to send me a new seperator pad.. that one had dried up and I needed a new one so i could grab one sheet at a time rather than 20 sheets at a time...

Personally I like brother fax machines and also panasonic.. we had a panasonic in india.. it was awesome.

Hmm... I have had a Brother for years now.. Course it doesn't get severe use, but enough for it to have failed by now.
