My favorite is probably Sasha - Xpander. BT - Flaming June or Godspeed. PvD - Words.

Does Robert Miles count as Trance? heh

Elemental007: dude i see the logic in that.... but those dj's ARE trance... and only trance pretty much from what ive herd from them.. the difference between the 2 genres has to do with the melodies and the bpm(beats per minute) and the mixing styles... yeah and i agree atb is kinda trance.. but to be more defining he is def europop

all the ministry of sound albums are good gateways of getting into trance music.. they are all great mixes that are mostly hihg energy and will give u a taste of whats out there.. ive moved on from them a long time ago.. but its def a great place to start

hah, great thread topic. yeah, trance has recently been a big part of my musical tastes. i agree that sometimes there is little difference between trance and house, but come on, you can just tell the difference sometimes. house is generally always more upbeat with a lot of rhythm changes( usually has female vocal track mixed in 🙂 )

at any rate, for those fellow tokers out there,i highly suggest running some oakenfold, schiller, or van dyk through the ol' headphones. trance is like nothing else when your high or tripping. i agree that you don't have to be on X or acid to enjoy trance, but my god is it an experience. i kid you not.

Demosthenes:

Tranceport: It's all good, but tracks 5 and 10 especially

exactly. track #5 is awesome. tell me the spanish voice at the end isn't about the sexies spanish voice you've ever heard 🙂 <--oops, nevermind, that's #6. also a f'in great song

sometimes i'll smoke a j, throw tranceport in my cdrom, sit down with the headphones, output winamp's geiss plugin through my 27" wega, and turn out the lights. talk about emotionally moving..sweet jesus 🙂

mosdef-
I somewhat agree.
I'm a true music lover - lots of classical and acoustic.
I think a lot of techno music is tasteless. However, some of it is really good. try out Orbital-Halcyon

<< Before someone flames me I want to explain that I enjoy music with meaning, and I can see no meaning in the often repetitive, monotonous synthesized tunes >>

So do I. Classical music is one of my favorite genres. But they don't play that at clubs, do they?

Orbitals' Are we here? is pretty good too.

1st time I heard Halcyon was in Mortal Kombat movie. 🙂

Thanks for the recommendation CoolTechie. I haven't heard of DJ micro, but what I've downloaded so far sounds sweet. 😎

Before anyone asks these will be deleted tomorrow.

To all you Oakenfold Lovers living in Atlanta. Oakey is coming down to dj a rave on the 17th of November. I can't wait! 😀

hmm, how many of you people that posted to this msg are asian? here's another question, how many of you pretend to be ravers, yet haven't been to a single rave? just wondering.

What does being Asian have to do with this? And yes, I'm half Asian. 😀

I've also been to a few raves around where I am, nothing big yet, so I wouldn't call myself hardcore yet.

<< hmm, how many of you people that posted to this msg are asian? >>

I am.

<< here's another question, how many of you pretend to be ravers, yet haven't been to a single rave? just wondering >>

I've never been to a rave, nor did I say that I have.

well, in hawaii, when asian start using, going to it, or start sporting it, that means its trendy. thats the thing we notice in hawaii in terms of the connection of asian = raves.

Btw, George Acosta Rocks!

Well, I work for Urbanrave.com if that is an answer to your question erikiksaz...

How about yourself? You can't really tout yourself as mr. raver/clubber considering there's some of us here who do it for a living.

yeah that was an odd post... there was barely any mention onf raves ya dink... and i go to raves quite frequently actually.. so whats your malfunction?

Valkore: there are lots of asians(and others too, but mostly asians) that pretend to be hard core ravers when they have never been a rave, i know a couple people like that. heh

I haven't been to a real rave, but at houses and stuff, and that was pretty tight. So I guees a real one would be awesome. Hmm, [whisper]anyone have any MP3s or albums of Paul Oakenfold? Napster isn't working to good right now. Oh yea, for single mp3s nothing under 40min 😉[/whisper]

WTF?!

Hey...have you guys noticed...Eminem is white?

TF...what the f*ck, back the F*ck off the race deal, we're striving for racism and you're saying Asians only do things that are trendy, and the other guy...bah!

I go to Math Class yesterday, and this little whore dresses up for Halloween as, what I thought a raggedy ann doll. Well when the teacher calls on her she says, "Oh me so sorry, me no no dee ansuh."

The whole room bursts in laughter. Mean while, another kid of Asian descent and I just start our homework early. My friend says, "don't let it bother you."

WTF Is taht? Don't let it bother me, when you get beaten up because of your color, THEN come back to me about and say that sh*t.

I mean God, ignorant golk these days...

ANYWAYS.
