What exactly do you do when you have a flat tire?

It's never happened to me... I went over a speed bump. Heard a pop, but didn't know it popped completely flat until I got home. So what should be my plan of action tomorrow?

I can't believe you're asking this question, but I'll answer it anyways:

Get your flat tire fixed!

I know but do I put a donut and drive to the tire place or do I just tough it out?

Hold on, don't jump the gun! That sounds a bit premature.

ugghhh use your spare tire. There should be one in your trunk and instructions in your manual.

I'm astounded.

I apologize... I'm not as smart as you are. Anyone else that can help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks... This has been a trying night. Though Louisville lost. I guess this is the punishment you get for being a gator.

I would put the donut on and then just drive around on that for a month or two months, avoiding getting the tire fixed. You should always drive in the fast lane with the donut, the fast speeds actually make the tire float above the pavement because of it's small size, and keeps it from wearing out.

Seriously, why do you need to ask this question? Put the frigging spare on, get the flat tire replaced and then put back on. This isn't exactly rocket science.

This has nothing to do with being smart. It's common sense.

Problem: flat tire
solution: fix flat tire

problem: how to drive to tire repair shop with flat tire
solution: put spare tire on, take flat tire to repair shop, get it repaired, put repaired tire back on.

I guess it's obvious :( My only question was just whether I can make it to the shop w/o putting my spare on (I didn't make this apparent at all). The place is less than a mile away but I guess it's probably best for me to get my donut on :(

1. put on spare or get tow if more than 1 tire
2. get tire patched
3. (i learned this recently) monitor tire religiously for flats after patch...
optional
4. order new tire

I didn't do #3 too often and 1 day it must have been flat in the morning and that afternoon on the way home the car seemed to be driving weird, yup... tire was flat again... went to a gas stations at the next intersection to try and re-inflate it to get to the tire shop... wouldn't inflate after 75cents I took it off.... fvcking thing was completely split after only a couple miles too, i don't drive far, so #3 is very important imo cost me 130$. :(

so I wouldn't drive on it, definitely put on the spare

If you want to keep a remote chance of having your tire patched - put a donut on.
Otherwise be ready to pay for 2 - 4 tires.

Don't drive any farther than you have to before you are able to stop and replace the flat with the spare. Wheels are sensitive.

you could also just remove the tire from your car, get someone to drive you to wherever to get it fixed, drive back with a fixed tire, put it back on

Just a heads up, if you drove on that tire when it was completely flat the chances are it's ruined.

What the fvck do you think the point of the spare tire is if it's not to drive on when one of your other tires fails?

If your prepared to drive a car,
you know how to change a flat tire;

and have an Auto Club membership,

so you call them up, and somebody else changes the tire.

If your car is new, you have "Roadside assitance".

I have AAA "Plus" membership.

I keep a spare tire, in my vehicle, and know how to change my tires,
and can do a lot of my own work.

Don't fix it. Call the local newspaper in the morning and put an ad in the paper for a used car. You have no business driving.

Nah, prostitute yourself on the side of the road to someone who will do it for you.

I am amazed that no one caught onto the fact that he already drove all the way home on a flat. What little more it takes to get to the shop is probably irrelevant at this point.

Lol your tires is dead after driving on it while it was flat. Just hope you didn't bend the rim to badly
